Today she dug, contrary to what most might think moving soil in their coastal home was harder than it might see. The grains were fine, falling easily and quickly back into place no sooner than you moved them away until you hit the harder, damp soil that lay below and was just as hard to displace. Over time the wind always brought the small grains of sand rolling back in and after a while they piled up needing to be removed once more, not to mention the moist under layer of soil helped keep her cool as summer reached its peak. It was also a good way for her to work out what muscle covered her long legs, and a nice change from her usual runs. She was finishing up, the last paw fulls of sand being flung out from under her when the call reached her ears and made them lay back slightly.
Family, the idea caused the white marks above her eyes to purse together. She hadn’t seen any of her relatives in a long time, and it wasn’t something she was particularly torn up about either. She had made her own way in life despite whatever disabilities they thought she possessed. Lack of speech had made her strong, made her resourceful and she thought herself better for it and not the delicate flower they all had thought she was. Still she couldn’t very well ignore the blatant summons which was obviously for her as it still rang across the shores. With a distorted huff she turned from her work and trotted steadily toward the boarder wondering if anyone else was going to show up there as well, the call had been rather loud after all.
It didn’t take long for her startling pale blue eyes to find her brother’s white and tan form on the horizon and despite her misgivings regarding family she was still pleased to see him happy and whole. She stopped short on just the other side of the tangible border that indicated this as Glorall’s territory and chuffed a sort of hello coupled with a nod of her head and slight pulling up of her lips into a half smile. She didn’t have words nor did she need them as her eyes stared blatantly at her brother, question and expectation more than apparent.
