Praetor. He knew his son had his own...misconceptions, especially when it came to his own mother. Tesseract had, after all, been the one to inform Praetor of his... unusual heritage. He had always believed his son would hold that against him and yet, it seemed to be something else that had bothered his son. A woman! Of all things, Tesseract had hardly believed it possible. Yet, he supposed he did not entirely understand his own son's position in the world; his union with Aithne, after all, seemed to be something beyond what Tesseract had been blessed with by Caligula. For his entire life, Tesseract had believed she to be the one with whom he had shared some fragment of a soul and yet, her abandonment had made it clear that such a belief had at least only been felt by him. She, on the other hand, had been quite capable of leaving time and time again. It was a difficult thing to explain and, a failure on his own behalf, he had been unable to give a satisfactory explanation to Praetor, or any child really.

But he had to believe things would improve. He had to believe that he could not only redeem himself in the world's eye but his children's eyes too. Already, he had faith in Leviathan and her goodness, an intrinsic part of her very core. Was it selfish to believe himself somehow worthy of that? Yes, but he had never claimed to be a pious man.

He steadied himself as he heard the hallmark of her approach - silence, really. It had become more of a feeling if anything. As she approached, he could merely offer her a small grin of welcome, his tail having waved thrice in response to her appearance; it felt right, he thought, to have a shadow again. Only this time, he wanted to ensure that shadow never felt like one - he wanted her, too, to shine. Was Iromar the place to do so? Perhaps. It had always been a quiet place, a place of underdogs so to say. Perhaps a timid waif and a broken man could do something of value there.

When she finally spoke, he twisted his head to face her with a half-grin and a raised brow. "You think so? Would you like to stop sneaking in that case?" His head tilted opposite then, and he felt his stomach lurch with a sudden nervousness. He had readied himself and yet, he never felt ready enough. "I have a feeling we could prove those misconceptions wrong too." He mused, clearly for her but in a way, he hoped that it'd relieve his sudden nerves in the face of having to say these things. It felt wrong to ask her to settle in a pack with him.

He glanced back out into the territory then, his ears tall and eyes narrowed as he investigated the precise way the fog moved and cleared; the way the rays bounced through the mists and illuminated the world in such a peculiar way. "We both miss somewhere," he again mused, his eyes flickering to hers momentarily though he could not bring himself to maintain eye contact, "perhaps it would be best for us both to begin feeling at home somewhere else. What do you think?"
