Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

your love endures my back to it

She pondered for a moment - why had he been ignoring the wound so easily? Though it was not a grave one at that, she had to contemplate why he barely seemed to pay it heed. Afterall, it seemed in the most obnoxious of places and Starshade had come to understand wounds of the foot to be some of the most difficult to heal. She hadn't the time to consider it too deeply though. He seemed almost agitated at her insistence that it was an issue but, regardless, she pressed onward. If he wasn't going to ensure his own wellbeing next to a volatile pack then she would do it for him one way or another.

She watched patiently then as he began soothing the wound once more; her eyes fixated on the bloodied spot below him though, her skin itching in anticipation. The scent of blood was not going away and that was truly what bothered her. At least, she supposed with a frustrated flick of her ear, he had finally slowed the bleeding enough to satisfy her pedantic concern.

Still, she had her suspicions. If he had neglected it the first time, what was preventing him from doing it the second or even the third time? Her eyes narrowed in suspicion - until he lifted his paw, at least. The invitation was apparent enough and caught her off guard initially, her head twitching to the left in inquisitive response. Then, she took a confident stride forward and instantly lowered her nose to the paw; she investigated thoroughly, her eyes having focused on the wound too rather than his own. She trusted him as much as she could, confident he would not put himself in such a position if he meant her any harm. Besides, she had become engrossed in her momentary task; she huffed, nozing the fur momentarily before she pulled away, satisfied with his work. She breathed a quiet sigh of relief.

No sooner than he could put his paw down though, her own suddenly lashed out. In a quick movement, she dragged her claws across the bloodied soil below, uprooting it and covering the crimson to the best of her ability. Another swipe seemed to conceal it best, quelling at least a fragment of the scent. She huffed again, signalling that the blood was the problem, not so much his shoddy work to his own paw. She knew that she ought to simply explain it to him and yet, it did not feel entirely right to resort to words so soon. Besides, he seemed to compose himself in a matter that she hoped would deter any prying eyes. It was not as if he presented himself as some weak, pliable fellow.

She was satisfied though, at least for now. He had stunted the bleeding enough and she would, in due time, quickly address any of the other blood that lingered in the clearing. For now, she relaxed, her tail given to wave as he whined. Her own excitement had been piqued too. For a moment, she stayed stationary, her eyes fixated on his almost in challenge - and then, she suddenly dropped her forequarters, her tail overhead and waving. Close to him now, she suddenly reeled away, pivoting suddenly in a twirling motion before she slapped the ground with her paws and fell back into a playful bow. Her head tilted towards his paw for a moment and then, her eyes sought his own for confirmation. A simple question: was this okay?
