Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

aum
On her back, she rolled, wriggled, working herself into the mess she had made. It was as if she sought to bury herself in the very blood and scent of death that had been left behind. Perhaps she should have simply left the body where it lay, so that she might crawl into the hollow cavity left behind. But instead, she rolled, the scent permeating into her fur so that it was almost as though her own perfume was now that of the dead wolf. Her own unique aroma was masked. Quite the site was she, four paws in the air and her full belly bulging towards the sky. Finally, she settled onto her side, pushing her face into the snow and dead grass, scratching her face and furthering the infiltration of her meal's scent into her own. It was then that a voice spoke, and the girl's head shot up, emerald eyes flashing towards the source. This was not an act of guilt, of worry at being caught in the act of some crime, but rather just surprise at having been caught so totally unawares. It was a serious downfall that Raum suffered, how completely involved she became with a kill - obsessed, almost.

She understood the common tongue, and yet she was perplexed by the woman's words. "Hhhmmmmmmmm." A high pitched, whimper-like hum was emitted in response, but not so much to the words themselves, but more so the very presence of the shewolf. Rocking forward, Raum pulled herself to her feet, her head cocking slightly to the side so that her right ear was afforded the best opportunity to hear whatever else the one who stood opposite to her might say. Born deaf in her left ear, she had always made this natural compensation when in the company of other wolves - though that in and of itself was a rarity - and the habit tended to come off more as pure curiosity on the girl's part rather than a defect. Emerald eyes ran over the female from her toes to her nose, pleased with what she saw until she reached a point where the black was no longer true, tainted by sienna guard hairs. The bridge of Raum's nose wrinkled in distaste. She was not perfect, but she was better than some the girl had born witness to roaming the lands of Moladion.

"Murderer?!" It is an exclamation, but also a question; not accusing, but rather curious. It is a word she has not heard before, and her interest is taken with it immediately. "Am Murderer?" Her tail waved back and forth, wondering if this was another way to define perfection, for of all things that was what she believed herself to be the most. Perfection. "Am Raum," she added, standing taller, "Am Murderer." The longer the girl spent time in a solitary state, the more clipped her speech became. In the recesses of her mind she new and understood the common tongue perfectly, could speak it as well as the next wolf if the need arose when baiting prey, but it had been a long time since she had had any type of interaction with a wolf that did not lead to that wolf's death. "Yes, yes...Hhhhmmmmm. And you? You?" She was filled with intrigue, emerald eyes fixated upon the not-perfect shewolf, never questioning why she had made herself known - only consumed with curiosity about the new label given to her.

"You can't change your nature. Some fear you. Not me! Some loathe you. Nobody likes you. That's just the way it is!"
