LIKE A WALK IN THE PARK, LIKE A HOLE IN YOUR HEAD
Ehiyeh gave an idle flick of her ears as Eden spoke. She was young still, naivety evident, and she did not quite understand the world, or even the things that she did. She had thought she understood the way of things, her place in life's hierarchy, but she was quickly learning that things were not as she had assumed. But she clung to her shaky beliefs, despite the world's attempt to dismantle them. "Then I suppose that makes me a murderer already." She remarked dryly, though her eyes were marked with confusion and concern. If she killed already, was a wolf really so different? She wanted to think so- she really did- but perhaps Eden was right. Were they, the wolves, really so different from the things that they hunted?
She tilted her head slightly as Eden shifted, looking uncomfortable at the title she had bestowed upon him. But that was what he was, was it not? And so that is what he should be called. Ehiyeh did not care much what her siblings or half-siblings might do or say in the presence of their father, she was admittedly very different from them. She shared some similarities, for instance the familial intensity, but she felt... removed from her siblings. And up until now, she had felt removed from her father as well. The girl did not comment on his discomfort, simply raised an eyebrow as he seemed to squirm, as if unbothered by the word that had slipped so easily from her lips.
The world grew quiet for a few moments before Eden spoke again, and Ehiyeh's ears pressed forward as she listened intently. He lied so easily, so effortlessly- as if it had actually happened. The words that came from his mouth seemed to be as real as the events that had actually transpired. She was impressed with the story that he had concocted so naturally, and she felt herself, for just a second, nearly believing it herself. After he was done speaking, she felt at ease with his words. She felt... protected, and it was a strange feeling, having spent her formative years largely on her own.
"I will commit our story to heart." Her voice was earnest, pleased. "If you wish to speak further on the matter, I am sure you know where to find me. Thank you... Father." The last word hung in the air for a moment before she turned, padding towards her den, requiring its security on this night.
