Change was long overdue in Spirane. Now that I have learned who is still an active presence within the pack, the ranks have been updated. As I once took time away from the pack, so too now shall Kalseru. Know that she is still second in command of the pack, as is reflected in her rank. Once you are familiar with the new ranking system, if you would like to change positions or move up in the ranks you need only ask. Let this be a time of new life in Spirane, and a promise of great things to come!

When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.

For what it was worth, she had done her best to separate the pair in her mind; she understood there would be tension between Daenerys and Tithe for some time to come for it was only natural and so, she had done her best to keep them as separate entities within her mind. Daenerys had always been a steadfast and strong leader, a woman who had fought for her position many times over and had done her best to ensure prosperity and wellbeing throughout Spirane, after all. As for Tithe? He had done what he had thought was right and he had fast become a meaningful part of Niviaq's life in one way or another - he was none other than her own daughter's imprint, a title seldom celebrated to the extent that it ought to have been. So, she had reason to believe in both and just as much reason to care for them both too. It had been difficult to see beyond it all and to understand their conflict and yet, she had done her best. It was not the first time something had been difficult and she was sure it would not be the last. She could only hope her kindness and understanding towards both would not offend the other.

She was glad, then, when Daenerys had welcomed her presence to kindly. Niviaq had not expected a poor reception but rather, she had been hopeful that there would no awkwardness, particularly when one considered her own children's absence on the mountain. At least, and she was glad for it, both Sila and Baird had remained. She had spied Aviaq too and yet, she had not quite gathered the courage to approach her wayward daughter. Their relationship had been tense, to say the least, and though each part of her ached for closeness, she had to respect her child's desire for something else. It would have wounded her to think that Daenerys might feel a similar way. Perhaps her relief showed too much, her breath relieved as she breathed out and stretched in the sun.

"The mountain misses you each time you leave, Daenerys," her voice was serious and yet, she did her best to breathe cheer into it as Daenerys seemed to beam, "after all this time, I am sure we are owed some peace, don't you think?" The usurpers had not been cruel and yet, Daenerys had worked hard for her position. It had always felt strange to enforce change on a place that had been a particular way for so long.

She was surprised, though, when Daenerys' words turned towards Niviaq herself. It made her perk up slightly, watching up at the mountain's queen with an amiable grin. She supposed she should have expected the question some day and she laughed quietly, rolling onto her belly and settling in with a hm of thought. "I don't blame you for being curious," she mulled, unsure as to what her answer ought to be, "I have been healing since what feels like the very first day I arrived in Moladion. Sixteen years ago, that was. You can only imagine how many tides and moons I have seen during such a time." She nodded slowly and then, she continued promptly. "Power has a way of changing those it touches and I have always feared what change might come if I am to touch it again," it felt strange to admit such a fear and her voice fell quieter with her words then, "even us Healers are not immune to ego and narcissim, after all. I have always cared for others but I have never wanted to rule over them in any way. I love to teach but I do not love to be looked up at. Does this make sense? Is it silly to think these things?" She laughed again before she looked out over the world beyond the mountains and towards the great sea far, far away.

She had never truly been able to talk about said things or, rather, she had never been asked. It had simply become who she was, no? A Maester without a rank, a mentor without a podium. She had felt almost foolish admittin it and yet, she found herself relieved again as she turned back towards Daenerys. "Besides, the youth are our future. I want them to see that there is a place for them," she spoke more frivolously then, more amused at the prospect of how many of Spirane's own youth had coveted the position now and in the past.
