I agree. It was a superb puzzle with so much to admire. The hidden definitions were so well hidden that it took me some time to crack the clues, which were very diverse and included some real gems. My favourites were 16a, 28a, 33a, 34a, 8d and 24d. I liked the precise signposting to the quotation, and the discovery at the end that a host of thematic words lay buried in the quotation was a stunning PDM.
I agree with John that it would be nice to see more comments on the Listener or any other puzzles, for that matter. The Message Board looks a bit sparse at the moment. Replies:
