In her whole life, she had never seen a wolf make such a turnaround; often, they preferred to remain stuck in their ways and yet, this girl had managed to change before her very eyes. In a way, she almost reminded Malina of Valkyrie - so sweet, too innocent and yet, able to become something more. In a way, she reminded Malina of herself and of Lucid: not born for greatness but able to take it nonetheless. That's what changing meant. That's what she could see in the girl's unusual eyes. Really, she had never expected to find something quite like it on a haphazard journey through Spirane. Hell, she had felt bad at first for putting off meeting Daenerys and yet, if this had been her karma then so be it. Her lack of punctuality was worth it.

Then, the girl chose a name. As soon as those words left her lips, Malina moved to sit up straight again, her face alight with a grin - "It is as you say," she nodded sternly, "it is up to you now how you choose to mold Mirage. She is your creation now." Just as Malina was a mother, a pack wolf, a loner at times, Paulo Vafer was somebody else entirely. Vafer had been the wolf to steal the tail hair's of Devil May Cry and speak the words of prayer over the broken body of Valkyrie. Perhaps Vafer had been asleep for some time and yet, now she had a companion. Vafer had Mirage and Mirage had her.

"From here onwards though, you will no longer need to steal lest you wish to," she paused, curious of the girl's response and then, she continued regardless, "I shall share with you what I have. In return, I ask that you allow me to impart wisdom upon you. I request that you be open to learn, to teach, to keep secrets where secrets ought to be kept." Perhaps the term Assassin had become outdated. Truly, they were not killers at their cores and perhaps Malina had lost the desire to cull all those that did not fit Heyel's neat little box of expectations and yet, she knew there had to be something new in the world. Perhaps, with Pariah, they could begin to create something new. After all, Pariah was a wolf with nothing and Malina a wolf who had lost everything at one point - didn't that mean they were already off to a good start? They could meet in the middle and go from there, at least.
