Jetta

Jetta was both touched and bemused at Macabre’s concern for her wellbeing, and could not suppress a gentle chuckle as her little friend circled her as though to check she was still all in one piece.

“I’m quite all right, honestly,” she reassured the mare, following her with her eyes and bobbing her head in earnest. “My mother knew I was coming to visit you, so she likely just thinks I decided to stay for a while. And my time in the Lagoon was nothing; it was a young stallion who herded me there, and he seemed quite shy. He didn’t hurt me or touch me at all, and nobody else bothered me. After a while I was able to simply walk out without anyone noticing. It was very surreal.”

Then, at last, Macabre addressed Jetta’s concerns. The young mare met her friend’s gaze steadily, listening with rapt attention and concern on her face. The knowledge that Macabre’s safety and comfort were threatened made Jetta’s gut twist. “I’m so sorry,” she finally said, her voice soft. “Is there any way I can help? I could talk to him, if you like. Or I could send my mother over to scare him off.”

Her pale lips twitched uncertainly with her poor attempt at humor. She hoped Macabre would not think she was trying to make light of her situation, and would realize she was only trying to put a smile on her face. She had every intention of doing whatever she could to help her dear friend, and she was certain that – if Inka heard Macabre was in trouble – her mother would do everything she could as well, especially once she heard a stallion was involved.
