Perhaps changed most of all out of all of the packs is this place. It was stripped out of its forested home and now instead lays at the edge of an ocean. The vast sparkling eternity of the water lays to the south of the land, while the rest of the land is made of rocky outjuttings. Gone are the trees, and all that remains for greenery are the short shrubs that dot the paths in the rock, and the moss that grows thanks to the spray of the waves. Further toward the shore, barnacles are a plenty, and look to cut the pads of those who slip on the wet surface. These extend out into the water itself, and the tough land has multiple caverns scraped into it, providing ample dens for the wolves that live there. Depending on the tide, however, the lower caverns may flood, and the vicious swirling water may prove to be dangerous as there is a strong undertide ready to pull unsuspecting swimmers to their doom. Even the tide itself is powerful enough to push intruders against one cliff or another. The ocean does provide, however, plenty of food for those who brave the waters - there are many breeds of seals and sea lions, though the males that protect each of these are vicious and territorial. There are also turtles that come ashore to breed and to lay their eggs - both the adults and the eggs themselves can provide sustenance to the wolves. But they must take care - the water is deep enough to allow sharks to come to shore from the depths below. Those unwilling to venture the waves or wet their paws with the moist sand of the shore can find snakes and hares in the rocky outcroppings, but they must beware the Komodo dragon and other monitor lizards that perch upon the shore - they are swift and move in groups, not to mention they carry venom in their bite that causes immense pain, paralysis, and prevents blood clotting. This is not the land for the weak of heart or the weak at all really. This is Uyaraut - ‘The Diamond in the Rough’.

Slowly the Queen wove her way through the interspersed undergrowth of Bright Moon. The birds continued to sing around her, their voices carrying an unexpected note of happiness that she had not previously noticed. Or maybe that her was own emotions inserting meaning into mere sounds, but whatever the reason for this lift in mood Dante couldn’t have cared less. She going forth to welcome forth her first new member! There was momentary shift of attention as wondered what this wolf would be like. Were they a brute or lady? What were they looking for in her lands? Who were they? There were so many questions she couldn’t even begin to scroll through the list that her mind had so suddenly conjured. Instead, Dante pushed away all the excess, cluttering thoughts and kept up her pace towards the newest member of Bright Moon. Or at least that’s how she saw it. Maybe it was a judgment call made a bit too early but she would have to see for herself once she arrived to greet this wolf.

The only thing that could have perturbed the Queen in her travels was the scab of closed flesh atop her crown. The darned thing was still finding its way open and Hellene could not seem to fuss over her lack of trying to keep the wound closed. Now really the only thing keeping her from breaking out into a full gallop was the fact that if she came upon this unexpected caller covered in blood she was going to give the wrong impression or just scare them away anyhow. And that was the last thing she wanted. The Ethiopian Queen wanted whoever this newcomer was to feel safe and welcomed into the pack, not terrified of the woman that ruled it. Though Dante was not particularly large in size, her presence alone was somewhat intimidating. Even in her younger years, Dante had always been known for her “old soul”. She had always had a knack for knowledge and had, had a voracious curiosity that could not be quelled. Even in her adult years she found herself with the same craving for life and knowledge. It seemed to run in their blood really, the Inferno Bloodline that is. A bitter scowl flickered across black velvet lips, but was quickly erased in the rememberance of what her task was at the moment. The Queen of Bright Moon was on her way to bring in a new packmember. The first one she would accept as Queen of the lands. This thought graced the Ethiopian lady with a flutter of butterflies in her stomach.

Slowly Dante pulled up on her speed and slowed down to a walk once more. Her coat shone and glimmered with droplets of sweat from the heat and exertion of the run. Though she was not prim and proper in most of her dealings Dante knew that she would have to work on her introductions and whatnot, but as she stepped forward into the clearing before her she found herself face to face with a pup. A mere child. And it seemed only natural to dote upon the babe as if she were her own. Call it what you will, motherly instinct or otherwise, Dante could not help it.

A natural smile fell across her lips, her glossy stones of violet and grey meeting up with depths of espresso. The little ess stood up, clearing her throat in what could have been a whisper of a cough, Hello, I’m Puanani.. I’ve come to join your pack, if you’d have me. Dante looked over the little lady’s figure looking for signs of hunger or starvation. In her cursory glance she saw a decently healthy child, though this would not affect the resounding yes that echoed through her chest Dante wanted to make sure that this child did not already have a home and did not need immediate medical attention. Puanani, that’s a beautiful name. I am Dante, Queen of Bright Moon. She smiled and dipped her crown to the little pup. I would find no greater pleasure than to grant you acceptance into Bright Moon. Dante padded across the border and leaned down to the girl, her crown rubbed up against Puanani, transferring her scent and that of Bright Moon onto her pelt, marking her as member of the family.

Welcome home Puanani, would you care to walk with me and look over the lands?
