His limbs moved him mechanically over the frosting terrain. Each muscle and movement fitting together seamlessly into a body that clearly knew how to move. The world around him was pale. In the mist his silver and slate hues mixed mixed and blended to make him ethereal. A puff of smoke within the steam and the fog.
He had taken upon himself to leave the lands of Diveen and ensure what Malleah had told him was true. At least on the surface. If she proved correct, he would be more than happy to fetch her something delightfully delicious, sealing their pact and bringing their relationship to the next useful level. One could not have a companion one could not bribe properly. Aranck was thrilled this one at least seemed entertaining to get along with as well.
A hawk above him caught his attention just long enough for a single ear to angle and then to ignore. His movements were purposeful, in direct opposition to the lazy turns of the raptor. Not a second was wasted, and no energy was spent without the need. He jumped and moved through the breaks of the crags, his mind turning with the information his nose and ears absorbed, his eyes hindered by the fog.
The sound of nails on stone echoed and his body froze. The vibrancy of his hazel eyes stabbed through muted toned around them. In the swirls of the moisture he saw the dark body of a wolf moving in much the same patterns as the hawk above and the fog below. His nose lifted for just a breath and his smile quirked, eyes glinting. She smelled of nowhere and everywhere. Nothing and everything. She smelled like opportunity.
Greetings. His voice whirred softly through the air. He approached slowly, carefully. His silver and strawberry body kept at ease. There was strength under his skin, but he showed he had no intention of using it. You seem…. interesting.
ARANCK ....far far from the sky. |
