Listener 4406 The Bard's Coupling

Just when I was thinking that the on-line solvers would make the Playfair code defunct in crosswords Kea comes up trumps. He had two key phrases that weren't in the lexicon of even Quinapalus! It was a pleasure to get the Scrabble tiles out and work it out the old way.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this puzzle. I thought this was one of the best this year. The clues were tricky but faultless. At one stage I guessed the clue-writer to be Sabre but when I had BY in my square I knew there could not be another B. I then knew it had to be Kea! Duple bacon indeed!
