News 08.08.2021
Change was long overdue in Spirane. Now that I have learned who is still an active presence within the pack, the ranks have been updated. As I once took time away from the pack, so too now shall Kalseru. Know that she is still second in command of the pack, as is reflected in her rank. Once you are familiar with the new ranking system, if you would like to change positions or move up in the ranks you need only ask. Let this be a time of new life in Spirane, and a promise of great things to come!

When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.

Looking squarely down my nose at him, I continued to assess the young male that lifted his gaze to meet mine. For a moment we merely looked at one another - each sizing the other up in one way or another - before a disgruntled snort was expelled in my direction. Mahogany eyes narrowed slightly, watching him as he rose from the ground without too much trouble. The wounded leg was clearly favored, but it didn't seem to unbalance him too much; the suggestion of muscles that had formed to compensate for the injury began to hint at what it was about this male Arthfael had latched onto and decided was worthy of a trial period in Spirane. Despite the struggles that he had clearly suffered, he endured and would not be kept down. His expressions of disdain for myself, his captor, and the entire situation he had found himself in made the corners of my eyes crinkle in the suggestion of a smile, though the line of my maw remained unsympathetic. He was certainly a tenacious one.

But when the introduction was given, I could not help but allow a grin to crease the corners of my maw as I looked to Arthfael with amusement dancing in my eyes. Mould-Back? The look was fleeting, though I did nothing to mask it, before Arthfael began to speak - offering a nickname of his own in response - and my gaze fell more seriously upon Tychon once more. The boy was upset at his predicament, that I could understand, and so I took no insult from his words. With time he would either come to appreciate Arthfael's choice to bring him here - even if the means had been a bit overzealous - or would make a beeline for the borders the moment his term was served. I turned to fixate upon Arthfael as he explained his reasoning for bringing Tychon to Spirane, and I nodded my head. "You have done well, Arthfael," I offered, though further discussion of why Tychon had been brought and whether or not he would be a suitable addition to the pack in the long term would be reserved for another day. The next week would reveal whether an offer to remain would even be offered, and if he would be receptive to the idea should it be proposed.

Unlike the quiet girl that Aurelia had brought, however, I did not feel that Tychon could be immediately trusted to roam the mountainside alone. Besides, he would probably flee at the first opportunity if that were the case, and then all of Arthfael's efforts would be for naught. I spoke directly to our newest guest then. "Tychon. Welcome to Spirane. You have been brought here because Arthfael saw something in you - of what, I am not entirely sure." Not quite true, but he didn't seem the type that would enjoy having something handed to him on a silver platter. Better to make him work for it, I thought. "You will remain here for at least one week - perhaps it should be longer to make reparations for injuring my pack mate." And yet my gaze moved towards the bite wounds Arthfael had inflicted on Tychon's person, purposefully avoiding looking at those injuries he had sustained prior to this encounter, before looking him in the face once more. "Arthfael will be your guard - so long as you prove worthy of needing one - as well as your guide."

With this I looked to Arthfael for his acceptance of the task, though I did not think he would object. We needed to know more about this Tychon fellow, and who better to learn about him than the man that had brought him into our home? There was an understandable tension between the two, but perhaps with time it could mold into something more. "You will see to it that he is tended to by one of our healers. And your own injuries should be checked over as well." Now this I could see there being objections to, but my gaze remained stern and steadfast, insisting upon it. Once more I turned my attention back to Tychon. Blinking down at him I asked, "Do you have any questions?"
