Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

I can be your ray of light, but I might leave you blind

The days grew colder and she fended mostly for herself these days. Her caregiver had vanished as did her siblings. She moved quietly along the coastline, Inara knew the tides movements now. The sea had drawn back within themselves and left a good bounty before her. Her bodice moved gracefully despite her youth to the pools that held the splashing goodies; with a quick strike her teeth snapped around a fairly large fish. She struggled to pull it away but managed to make her way to the grassy embankment.

She didn’t speak so much but she had overheard others and taught herself; not that she needed to. No one seemed to take much interest in her and although perhaps disappointed she became accustom to the silence and left to her observations. It wasn’t a bad life but she couldn’t help but desire more from it. Inara looked around wondering if anyone was near but it seemed quiet outside of the screeching gulls and the crashing of waves.

Inara peeled at the flesh to get to the rich, nutrient rich meat. It was the first large meal she had found in a week or so and she was keen to gorge herself until she was so full she could hardly walk. She kept a weather-eye out for anyones approach and today she was particularly protective of her meal glowering at the birds gawking in the distance.
