aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

Seraphina seemed to pick up on the fact that Castiel was feeling entirely comfortable with the situation given the fact that Vlad not doing so well to instill confidence in any of them. Except maybe himself. The fiery ess rubbed her shoulder against his and his racing heart calmed slightly, and he would have replied with a thank you except all his mind could think to do was banter sarcastically with itself about what he would have said to Vladimir. And in the end he decided against all of it and just asked how far they were going, not that any of them could really tell. They couldn’t tell time or distance in the inky blackness. That was rather terrifying to the princeling. He was used to having some variation of ability to know something with his sense, but in here he was basically blind. If he did a 360 degree turn, he wouldn’t even really know when he had gone the full circle or whether he was still facing the same direction he’d started at. And Seraphina made the point by telling his brother, they ought not to go very far, just in case. She added quickly. No one wanted to be blamed for ending this little escapade. For it was fun, Castiel, all things considered was enjoying his freedom and the time to play with his brother and Seraphina, but there was a point of danger and boundary that he didn’t want to cross.

And then a soft grumble echoed out.

Castiel quirked a brow and chuckled at the fact that Vladimir’s own hunger was what would prevent them was doing anything to particularly dumb. The cavern, that was once silent, was now filled with raucous laughter. The ashy prince was starting to feel a bit better now, especially since food took priority right now. He could feel his own stomach churning in on itself, he too was on the verge of a grumbling, rumbling stomach. And then suddenly he felt his tail being pulled taught as his body was turned back toward the light, Out adventure of the Pitch Black Cave will have to be written another day, guys, I’m hungry! Castiel continued to laugh and shook his head as Vladimir released them each from the trio-twining of tails. Cas was about ready to jump straight out of the cavern and go racing through the trees until Vlad reminded him that they still had demons chasing them. The ashy prince took up his rear wing position behind both of his playmates and laid down on the cool stone while Vlad pieced out the plan and scouted out. A thin veil of sweat and moisture from the cavern had built up over Castiel giving a rather nice shine to his fluffy pelt of puppy fur.

Castiel’s ear perked up at the sound of paw steps and he looked up to find Vladimir skirting the edge of the cave and exiting into the light fully. Castiel got up quickly and trotted to the entrance and instantly felt his moist fur prickle with the electricity in the air. A shiver of excitement ran down his spine, now this was exciting. This was the first really big storm the pups had been subjected to and Castiel rather liked the looks of it. Since they lost ys, I think they are letting loose their hounds! WE have to get home… I can hear them coming now! A just then a rumble of thunder broke out across the land and Castiel felt a wild grin spread across his features almost identical to his brother’s save the little lopsidedness of his. Castiel followed suit of his brother quickly, not really saying much but rather just enjoying the feel of the wind in his fur and the electricity that danced across his pelt. Even the cool drops of rain that started to spatter and dot his coat felt wonderful, he didn’t care that this was the hell hounds spit being drooled upon his back. His brother let out a sound of disgust, reiterating what Castiel had already thought to himself, Hound slobber! Castiel just laughed, laughed like there wasn’t a care in the world. Slowly his limbs picked up from a quick trot to a slow gallop. A four beat pattern thumping through his paws up through his whole, tiny body. This was freedom at its finest.

Vlad had pointed the group in the direction of home and so he just kept running not really caring, Catch me if you can! He shouted out gleefully. His tiny paws beat faster and faster, his heart raced along with him. Come on you guys, I know you can go faster than that!
