A Small Break From the Heat IP: 126.96.36.199 Posted on August 18, 2016 at 08:39:28 PM by T
It has been a hot summer so far here in central NY. No record breaking amounts of
90 degree days, but we have been consistently in the 80s and 90s since July 1st. Fulton
has only recorded 6 days in that stretch under 80 degrees for the high temperature.
So are there any signs of a break from the heat?
Friday and Saturday we will climb again in the upper 80's to near 90. A cold front
will come through here on Sunday. This front will give us a two day break from
the heat. Monday will be especially refreshing with only low 70's expected. Tuesday
we can expect to be back up to the upper 70's. And then 80's expected for the rest
of next week.
It does not look like we will be quite to 90 degree heat for the rest of August.
But we should see more 80's. And a day here or there dropping into the 70's.
Even going into the month of September, there doesn't seem to be a real cool down
on the horizon. With the lower sun angle, I do expect to see a gradual cooling
off, but temperatures look to stay a bit above normal. For the 3 months of
September, October, and November, the Climate Prediction Center is calling for
above normal temperatures here in the northeast U.S. So enjoy the warmth for
a while. Still to early to tell how the upcoming winter will be. Replies: There have been no replies.
