PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

Inka

The more Jasiri spoke, the more Inka's blood rushed in her ears. She could feel her face becoming hot, and her stomach tightening with distaste. She was not a violent horse by any means - she could not remember the last time she had attacked a horse, if she had ever - but over the years she had acquired a strong sense of justice. When she witnessed something that struck her as morally wrong, Inka was no longer the gentle, mild-mannered mare she prided herself on being. She was Het Vuur's daughter, with fire in her veins, casting aside all social convention for the sake of speaking out.

Thus, she made no effort to hide the blatant disgust on her face. Inka continued to stand tall, ears twisted back atop her head and her dark eyes focused on Jasiri intensely. "I'm sorry," she said, and hated herself immediately for apologizing to this bigoted mare, "But you're wrong. Some of the most important horses in my life were not drafts. I would never treat them as lesser for something they cannot help, whether it gave me a crick in my neck or not." She thought of Valentine, the kind-hearted father of her children, and imagined that she was speaking on his behalf. For a moment she even considered telling Jasiri that a non-draft had sired her children, but she decided that the mare did not deserve to know that information.

"I think you should leave," Inka ended with a finality in her tone that indicated she would accept no argument, and waited for Jasiri to take her advice. She did not want this mare on her mountain, and she had no intention of passing on her message, but she had every intention of informing the Prime Minister of what had just transpired here.
