Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

The storm was raging. Never had Zeltzin been caught in such a flurry. Her ears were tucked against her head as she made her way through the snow wondering if she was out here for no reason, or if her worry was called for. Solstice had went out to play earlier that day with her rabbit friend. The girl already was almost the size of Zeltzin yet, she was still young and while Zeltzin knew she was capable of taking care of herself she couldn’t help but leave the confines of the forest to find her or at least make sure she was safe. The tri-colored fem had tried waiting for her adoptive child to come home, tried to be patient but she simply couldn’t. She had let Zelda know to keep an eye out for her sister’s return before taking off herself. She knew there was a storm coming, surely it was snowing heavily at home already but the winds over the fields were a whole different monster.

She wasn’t sure if Solstice was even here. Her senses were dulled, the snow blanketing everything muted any scents, the vast moving field of white left her barely able to see but a few feet in front of her and the raging wind forced her to pin her ears against her head to keep them warm and protected, and when up the gusts of wind left her deafened any way. Least this way she was avoiding losing any more heat that she already was… not that it was likely significant. Right now her thin fur was working against her. While it was a boon in the summer right now she was finding the wind was blowing through most of her coat chilling her skin and causing involuntary shivers now and then.

She needed shelter and she knew Solstice was bright if she was out here surely she would have tucked herself in somewhere to wait out this storm… Hopefully Zeltzin was wrong and just out here for no reason. She rather that than anything else right now, she hoped she was safe and sound back in Taviora. Her mind was very quickly snapped back to the storm at hand when a rather strong gust hit her feeling like it was chilling her to her very bones. A shudder ran over the female, and she looked around with her red and golden eyes trying to spot anything that might provide a moment’s reprieve from the wind.

Nothing came into sight, and with a grunt she pressed forward through the fields. She felt her paws numbing, a bad sign for sure but there had to be someplace for her to hunker down and wait the storm out, or at least get some of her energy and body heat back. She only hoped her little Solstice was okay, Samhain would be beside himself if anything happened to her too. She just had to keep telling herself that Solstice was okay and that she also would be okay. She just needed shelter now, even a log would do. She wouldn’t let herself freeze out here to many wolves needed her.
