SOMETIMES THINGS DON’T COME FULL CIRCLE

katia had never wanted to drag others into the mess of her life, but here she was. for her part, motionless was good company and listened attentively as katia spoke. she had granted the slender girl her full attention, and it reaffirmed her decision to confide in the white ess. there were a few beats of silence as katia’s vocals came to an end and she waited with baited breath for motionless to respond - after all, it was quite the load to shoulder. she wouldn’t be hurt if the woman asked them to leave.

the reaction she received was just the opposite. she attempted to suppress her sigh of relief as the woman spoke of her expectations. ”of course,” she agreed immediately. akuji, she knew, wouldn’t be too happy about calling the alpha an ally, much less a friend, but katia would be happy to do both. the former princess was drawn abruptly from her thoughts as the other woman began speaking. she paid the alpha her full attention, a thoughtful frown on her face as the woman spoke of the past abuse she had suffered.

katia was silent for a long few moments, contemplating. ”i don’t think that you’re wrong for that,” she said softly. ”in my family, it’s usually an eye for an eye mentality. we take retribution very seriously. it’s not peaceful of me to say, but in our family, the man who hurt you would have been skinned alive and made an example of.” she paused and turned her eye onto the girl at her side, assessing the expression on the alpha’s face. ”do not feel guilty for taking the closure that he denied you for so many years.”
