I had heard there was a good hunter here. I mean most packs did have a hunter, but I was really trying to get a little experience everywhere I went. With my grandmother’s teachings behind me I figured I would move next to the plains of Asteraia for my next lesson. Hunting was probably one of the few things I had a handle on, but only because it was necessary for survival. Honestly I think I have one of the hardest things behind me in healing. I didn’t want to stay in the past though, I wanted to go ahead and put my paw into the next den or however that saying goes. I was going to be the elite guard and no matter what I wouldn’t fail. I know it’s my destiny to fight for others. It’s what my mother did, it’s what my father did, it was just in my blood to fight and protect and kill if I had too. I would protect my own in Iromar, and while I don’t think my blood would ever settle in my veins I know this would at least content me and give me something to direct these overwhelming feelings towards.
Now… just to find the huntress. I wasn’t as brazen and eager to march right into Asteraia as I had been with Diveen. But I do know at least Iromar and Asteraia are allies. It shouldn’t be a problem for me to enter the lands. Plus it wasn’t like I was coming in to puppy nap someone or something. I was just here to find this hunter here then learn from her. Placing my nose to the ground I try to find the smell of someone like fresh kills or other dead things. I know the Monster Queen here was different, and she had some notorious cannibal as her partner but they didn’t scare me. I try to focus on a scent starting at the border. I found some weird stash thing first. Lots of frozen food and I wonder if I found someone’s food trove.
Given the amount I knew whoever had started it was at least a good hunter. The variety of kills was enough to tell me that. I start here then and my hunt begins, bringing me to go deeper into the lands. There are no signs of prints or anything. Even on the flat lands it just looks like the wind can cover up anything. Snow was such an annoying tracking obstacle. I had no idea what this wolf looked like, I didn’t even know her name, I just knew Asteraia had a hunter. They had to right? It was probably the most commonly filled position in all the lands because really who can’t hunt? But I guess that just makes those who become the lead hunters all the more skillful right?
Slowly I start trekking over the lands. I will follow this scent until it dead ends or something happens. I don’t know what but all I do know is I won’t give up until I find this wolf.
