When Taika did not even attempt to deny his accusation, but instead insisted that the boy she had been with was no boy at all, but a man, Argento exploded into laughter. He laughed so hard that he had to momentarily slow his pace until he was lagging several strides behind his companion, gasping for breath while the tips of her tail teasingly flicked in his face. It was only when she turned his accusation around on him, insisting that he was only jealous, that the colt managed to get his laughter under control. "Ew!" he shot back, his voice lilting in exaggerated disgust, and reached forward to catch her tail and tug it with his teeth before finally catching up with her. "Girls are gross," he teased her, flashing a playful grin, and was about to throw more banter her way when the forest suddenly starting moving.
The colt's head snapped forward and he came to an abrupt halt, marvelling with surprise at the branches that trembled and swayed all around them. A moment later, a pale gold stallion leaped toward them from behind the trees and challenged them, his voice trilling in a loud whinny and his pearly hooves cutting dramatically through the air. For a heartbeat, Argento was paralyzed with fear. Then he saw the knowing smile on the young stallion's face, and knew immediately who he was. With a mischievous grin, the colt sprang in front of Taika and arched his neck, pawing the air in front of him while he stared down the stallion with glittering blue eyes. "It is I," he proclaimed, deepening his voice for effect, "the Prince of the Seven Seas, and I have come here to dethrone you from your tyrannous reign over the forest folk. Stand down, my good sir, or I shall sick my battle maiden on you!"
