Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

Wolves don't flatter here? "Well, that seems awfully obnoxious of them," I state haughtily at his dismissive tone. From what I could discern by his calm, yet remote demeanor along with this underhanded information was that Glorall was likely a boring place. You know, the kind of place where everyone follows the rules and everyone is polite but distant from one another. Why would this kid ever want to stay here? Then again he is kind of collected and refined. I guess every pack needed one of those and that would be perfect for a Chancellor.

My ears fall back at his question, brows furrowing as I consider it. My head even tilts a bit to the side and does my tongue poke out between my teeth? I'll never admit to it. "I don't know, Chancel stuff?" The word sounds so strange on my tongue that I break a grin at him, the kind of wolfish grin that isn't all childish but sort of mischievous. As if we are in on a joke together. "You know, you would help put wolves in their ranks and guide them I guess. What do YOU think a Chancellor should do?" I only ask the last bit because I was sent here to learn stuff so I guess I need to ask questions, even if I say it like this is some game.

His next words halt her for a second; she brightens in amusement at his first notion of Chancellor but then glares at his next one. "No, only my mate calls me that and I don't have one of those." But why does Halcyon's picture turn up in my mind? I shake it from my thoughts, glare fading away just as abruptly as it came. Then I'm back to a sly smirk. "You are too old to be my mate anyways and I'm too young. I have to.. experience life first." The way I say these makes it obvious I'm quoting my mother, even though I had never shown any interest in mating (I WAS ONLY ONE STILL!).

I watch him stretch and follow his lead, standing and stretching too. It is instinct really, the itch under my skin arising from his movements and then relaxing upon following them. "Naw," I say with a shrug. "All water looks the same to me. I came here because my mother sent me off to train and learn things. I don't really know what that MEANS but I'm here to do it. So, Chancellor, what can you teach me?"
