It may seem hard to believe from others, but the Monster was quite willing to give someone a chance. When she was a pup no one had ever given her the chance to show that the cursed mark on her forehead didn’t have to define her. Weakness was something she simply could not tolerate, but she was willing to give the mute small pup a chance to prove his worth. She could provide him the teachings and the tools to become something so much more, but it would be his determination and his actions to make him become the greatest self he could be. Diamonds are made by constant pressure and the Monster was willing to grind him and push him past his limits, so that one day he could truly show the world how much he could shine. The question was, did he have it in him to accomplish the first task she had assigned him?
As the child began to get him and slowly back away, the Monster remained still as she waited to see what he would do. With a wag of his tail and a grin thrown her way, the Monster remained emotionless as she continued to watch him, but as he turned his back to her and ran off in the woods, a faint crooked grin could be found on her scarred muzzle. Though as quickly as it came it would suddenly disappear as she remained sitting, curling her tail neatly over her paws, waiting, ever so patiently. Her ears pricked forward as she heard a sudden commotion going on within the woods something or someone was bothering a couple of birds. Eventually the mute pup would come back, his little chest puffed out with pride, as he carried proudly in his mouth something. Puzzled her dial titled to the side, as he came closer and placed the lightly tanned and speckled egg at her graying paws. Dark cold eyes looked into his boldly gaze, as her soft cold voice dripped slowly, questioning him.
“This is what you want to become, a thief?”
It would do her pack well to gain another thief within their ranks. She would need a shifty little thing to sneak around and do her bidding, and what could work even better than an innocent pup. Anima had done a wonderful job rising through the ranks, and because the she-wolf did not have pups to distract her, that meant some of her time could be spent training this child before her. Her dial would lower and gently her cheek would push against his own, and as her neck extended, she rubbed the side of her face against his smaller frame. Her scent would mark the child as one of her own within the pack, he would be accepted by all, and safe from Tobias’ dangerous teeth, claws, and hunger. Gently she would take a step back, her eyes remaining on the child, prepared to tell him all he would need to know, and what would be excepted by him. He had shown her that he was capable of following orders and finding out he can do something himself, but what was it more he could do? The Monster would exploit it out of him and help him rise to the occasion.
“You will serve the pack, you will do everything you can for the benefit of the pack. In these fields are wolves that are different in their own way. Some believe in seeing color of your very soul. Some crave the flesh of wolf and others do not. We accept everyone here, do you understand? If you can, then cross these borders and allow me to mark you as one of our own.”
