Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

PARAVANA

She had a union with Underidge. She remembered it, and over time her belly had begun to grow and she knew that inside of her pups did grow. It was an odd thing really. It brought strange feelings inside of her, but it was also feelings of strong purpose. She was well fed, but her form remained rather slim for a pregnant female. Her body did not seem to take to storing lots of extra fat and nutrients for the coming pups, and really she had no idea when they were to appear into the world. She simply knew that they would come when they were meant to come.

She kept herself occupied- or more of Underidge would keep her occupied. She did not put too much thought into the coming pups and how they may change her life. How could she imaging something she had never experienced before? She only knew the world that was presented to her with Underidge. That is all she knew. She knew the taste of blood and the love of Shade. She knew the stench of ocean and the sound of waves. They were a constant comfort to her. A comfort that always seemed to have a thorn poking at her side that she could not understand. She didn't know how to take a stab at this thorn that never seemed to go away. Something never seemed completely right- but she kept that to herself.

This day felt uncomfortable from the start of her rainbow eyes opening to now. It was later in the day now, and the sun was starting to set. She was laying on her belly, her eyes watching the sun start to head towards the horizon. She felt irritated. She wanted to growl for no reason as a pressure built up inside of her. She flicked her tail as she lifted herself, and hurried into the den.

It seemed to last forever. The growing pain. The cramping power of labor. It gnawed at her and gnawed at her. She moved from position to position, and nothing felt better. The sun was long gone, but she would not sleep. Nothing would ease her in any way. It only worsened as time went on. Pain and contractions. Time kept on rolling by with the sound of the constant waves. Not one moment let her rest- not one. She felt her body wanting to give way to slumber as the night toiled on, but the young inside her refused to give.

It was all night that she did not sleep, that she rolled around and rumbled in pain. She was exhausted already. She felt her body shaking as the contractions became more frequent and intense. She was urged to push, and push she did, but with all the pressure from pushing, nothing seemed to happen for several minutes- and it felt like one of them was stuck. She thrashed her head about, wincing as she took a deep breath and pushed with all of her might. It got the first pup partially out, feeling the urge to push again. Finally, the first pup is free right at the sun cracks dawn upon the horizon. She sees only a darkness- nothing distinguishable about the pup she just birthed. It is darkness and Shade. It seems to be one- one dark thing destined to be.

"Umbra" she mumbles as she instinctively take and grooms the pup clean. "Umbra...Umbra Umbra..." she whispers weakly as she allowed the dark one to feed at her stomach.

The second she knew was within, and the second did not come quickly. The sun rose more into the sky, and Paravana did not rest. She felt no comfort as time went on until she felt the urge to push once more. She was panting at this point. She didn't want to push as she did not feel she had the energy left...but she knew relief would come once she did. Thus, she pushed. She whined and snarled, and it took many pushes until the second sprung from her. Weakly she pulled it to her, cleaning the second pup but her voice was unable to speak. Her head wobbled like a drunk. She was just able to clean the pup well enough before her head fell to the ground. She faded to the cold blackness. She would remain- breathing slowly, in and out, but gone into the world of the unknown.
