She feels no sense of impending threat from the female. While Lamia does not show respect in the most oft used manners with dipped tail and low head, she remains a respectful distance away. Aithne's shoulders remain tense despite the calmness between them for to do otherwise would be simple foolishness. There are many wolves who have mastered the art of deception. She had heard stories of Lillith and her penchant for such games, heard one of those stories straight from the lips of Siren, her own child. And this most certainly is a child of Lillith's and Andras.

A slow blink is given in reply to Lamia's murmuring of her name. A child, once upon a time. "We all were." There is a blandness to her tone, a careful neutrality as she watches Lamia. Madness, it seemed a trait many of their lineage possessed. Lillith. Andras. Siren. It would not do to discount this girl just yet. The movement stills as Lamia settles to the right of Aithne and the Empress cants her head slightly to better listen to Lamia without turning her gaze towards her. In that move Lamia has submitted herself as a follower of the Empress, at least in Aithne's eyes.

"I was a child like you. A survivor who clawed and fought my way to freedom. A wanderer who found these lands and made a name for myself, a follower that was given the opportunity to be a leader. I was a taker and also a giver, a giver of mercy. Your father died by my jaw but only because he asked for it." The last words are spoken with a gentleness that is unlike the Empress, a gentleness that would likely clue Lamia into the fact that she had not fought Andras for the throne, had not been an enemy. "I'd like to think I was a wayward child of his, just as you are."

She had never admitted such openly before and yet it was partially the truth. She had followed Andras loyally and perhaps she was not so much a daughter figure, but she had certainly been something.
