Every parent knows what their child is capable of and what they are not capable of. She is well aware that her children were special in their own right, the belonged to her and her imprint. In a way it would seem that her genes mixed with Tobias created something quite extraordinary with one another. It was interesting to see how extremely different the two were and yet also how similar. It was a shame that she knew one thing that would inhibit her children was herself and her imprint. No matter what she could do for them she know so very well that it wouldn’t be enough. How can a Mother continue living and knowing so very well that she could not help them with certain things in their life? She was, by no means, a social creature and so she did not know how to teach them to be social. The Monster could teach them all the skills needed to survive, to think of their pack, and to lead, but all these things wouldn’t be enough. There were things she lacked, and if they had a different Father before he could have taught them things she herself did not know, but that was not possible either. It angered her to know that there was more things her children needed to know and she could not give it to them. She did not trust many wolves and so she taught her children to not be so trusting to strangers, but it would seem her daughter broke this very rule and continued to trust Rhett more, and more, so the Monster decided to investigate – as any other loving parent would. While she listens to the golden-fur child’s response, she is slightly puzzled why he would wish to build her pack. He seemed so optimistic with what the pack could become with each other at the helm, and it was his honesty that caught her off guard, but she did not show it. Instead she replies gruffly.
“When she takes the pack, it will not be my pack any longer.”
Why Rhett seemed to think that Tick Tock would want to build her pack seemed quite strange. She rather enjoyed the amount of wolves she had already, even if instincts told her that having more would be safer and reasonable. As a creature of habit she preferred to be alone, but over time she was breaking out of that habit, but she still clung to it at times. Tick Tock was impressed with the honesty and sincerity he had in his voice, pleasantly thankful that he was willing to not hide and lie to her. It made things quite easier for the two of them. Though his honest wasn’t wiping away her concerns. Boldly she alleges him of a possible takeover, the Monster not doubting in the slightest that someone would threaten to take her daughter’s birth right – wanting to weed out anyone that would do such a thing right under her nose. Rhett’s soft snort was met with a steely glare, Tick Tock absolutely firm and grave about this particular situation. He sees himself as a creature of knowing politics fairly well, and as he explains his disinterest to try and take Asteraia as his, she is assured that he did indeed understand the basics of politics. As he compares himself to her Nevermore, she silently begins to process his thoughts and she mulls on it. Perhaps he was the one that could help her daughter teach her things that she and Tobias could not teach her own children. There was a small part of her that was pleased that there was someone that was so willing to be there for her daughter, and become something so important for her Nevermore. Indeed she was pleased and absolutely thankful, that her daughter would have someone, so early in life. Tick Tock had no one in her life that purposefully wanted the best for her, she was cursed, and it would seem her daughter was lucky. Although she was thrilled, outwardly she was not showing it at all, and she remained unemotional. Gruffly she speaks again, denying his ability of fighting, but at the same time affirming his continued presence within the fields.
“If you are going to be her mate you will need to be there for her, emotionally, mentally, and physically. You will fight and I will teach you how.”
If he wished to be her mate and actually be there for Nevermore, then he would need the same training as her own children. He wanted to be there for her daughter and she would make sure he would be there, every step of the way for her. Running a pack was difficult and yet she strove to take the leadership quite well, even if she was alone. Although she loved her imprint dearly there was only so much they could do together, and only so much he could do for the pack. For a moment the Monster remained entirely impassive to his words and admission of actually liking her daughter and wanting the two of them to work well together. A small part of her was relieved and thankful that her daughter had someone for her, and her alone, someone that would work with her. If she was to ensure her daughter to do well then she would need to make sure that Rhett would do well too. Slowly as she began to accept his honesty and his dutiful role as becoming, one day, the next Alpha of Asteraia with Nevermore as his mate, the Monster suddenly releases a heavy sigh. Her dial lowers and her shoulders slump, her ears fold down as Tick Tock’s body holds an almost defeated appearance. Did no one ever realize how much she does, especially at her age? She was relieved that Rhett would be there for her Nevermore, and she wanted to ensure that he would remain so, whether she was here in the fields or her soul was free of this world. Firmly she speaks, dark eyes meeting his emerald orbs, as she waited for the boy’s committed answer.
“I’m her Mother, I am allowed to be concerned for her well-being now and when I am gone. Can you keep a promise Rhett? Will you be a proper mate, to be at her side no matter what, to help her in any way? Will you be there for her, always?”
