Was I left behind?
Tell me, tell me I survived.
When Nova moved to leave, I have to admit I was thankful. The situation was as intense as it was awkward, and I was happy to have resolved it peacefully and now have it behind us. I merely bobbed my head to the young mare, smiling foolishly as she turned to leave. One brown lobe flicked forward and back as I registered the tender touch she gave Orhan before ambling off into the brush. Perhaps Nova was more like her mother than she could truly see.
I breathe a heavy sigh and bob my head while looking to Orhan. "Thank you for your assistance in this. I apologize if it was, well, awkward." I say, allowing my lips to droop to a knee and to nip lightly at an itch that spurred from the skin there. "I don't plan on being a bother to you going forward, I swear." I say with a playful smile, my nostrils flaring as I take in a warm air.
I allow my gaze to drift over the sea of sand around us again. I'm still amazed to know this place exists in such close proximity to my own home, a prairie with a nearby forest. We were lucky to live here. I was lucky to know stallions like Orhan. "But please let me know if I can ever return the favor." I say, finally kicking my frame into a more forward and strict stance, buying just a few more minutes in the shade before I step back out underneath the relentless sun.
