Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

Eldritch - eight - loner - taika's mate - neverland's soul

The weeks had not gotten any better.

In fact, my headache had begun to increase in frequency, often rendering me mute with pain. During those times I would find the abandoned den that I had claimed and lay in the darkness panting, eyes squeezed tight. Even when Taika came looking for me, her desolate voice calling my name, I could only answer with a snarl that would send her away. Yet when I did, I regretted it. I ached to have her back. I had begun to have dreams - fancies, really, of her coming into the den and curling around me. Or me laying my head across her back and falling to sleep with a peacefulness I hadn't felt in... well I don't know how long, I couldn't remember right?

Today the headache had lessened to a much more bearable pain, but still a pain. I had hunted as best as I could until I had managed to find an old groundhog that didn't even bother putting up a fight when I had snatched it in my jaws. It wasn't very tasty, it's meat stringy and old, but I scarfed it down with relief to stop the continuous growl of my stomach. Then I padded to a clearing that held a large boulder and hopped upon it, letting the warmth of the sun dig into my fur and ease my tense muscles.

With a sigh I fall asleep, the pain receding as I do so.

Only to be awakened a short time later by a voice calling out. I listen, my lavender eyes scouring the area and my maw parted in a scowl. Prince? I was no prince by any means and of course this kid knew Taika. She had said something along the same lines before. I spot her between trees in the distance, a flash of brown and gray and white. "I'm not a prince," I grouse loudly, waiting for her to come to me, refusing to be removed from my perch. I watch her, nose sniffing even as I find a moment of surprise in noting her scent is remarkably close to Taika's and... also familiar in another sense. I can't quite place it, though.

"Though she said I was her lost mate," I say, not quite low enough for Masque not to hear as I stare at the kid, feeling a sense of.. hurt? Anger? Resentment? Isn't that what Taika had said, had claimed at first? I assumed she still thought that because she kept coming around trying to help me and I had grown used to her visits. Maybe I also felt partly like she was right too. "I don't need any friends." I grunt the words, glaring at Masque even if I also seemed quite curious. "But what did you have in mind to help me, child?"
