Her snowy coat was clean and perfectly kept. Thankfully she was lightly shedding, and would be able to reduce the rubbing from the years before in order to stay cool. Forest green eyes, appearing dark in the shadows, inspected everything from the newly blooming forest flowers, to the saplings, to the old trees that had been there a year ago. Normal sized ears picked up every bird call, twig snap, and wind blowing. Every other animal was being careful to be quiet. This was only natural, as a wolf was nearby. No prey felt like being dinner for free this evening.
Amber was being furtive as well, but for completely different reasons. To see something new, sometimes it was best to be quiet. Especially when anything could see you the millisecond you entered their vision. White was a very, very noticeable color in a dark, brown and green forest. The shadows did not help her one bit for hiding. They did the complete opposite for her, or they were at least neutral. Nothing had ever helped her hide, except the snow, she was colored exactly like it, so it was almost like she was meant for the cold. Which, she kind of was since she knew she was at least half Arctic Wolf. Mother had been many things. Completely truthful was not one of them. Unobservant had been another. That's why she was named after a golden red color, and not green or white.
A paw step. Freezing, the she-wolf looked in the direction of the sound. A flash of tan. Instantly, Amber was on the color, turning about a tree to see the entire wolf. Tan, red, brown. Those were his colors, and they seemed as if someone had gone crazy when coloring him. In another way, it completely seemed to fit him. He felt odd. But not in a bad way....
"Hello" she called out in a calm, kind voice. It was slightly, ever so slightly rough, as if she had a cold. But it was mostly gentle. Like she herself was known to be. So far.
