Everything in the world just felt heavy, as if gravity had somehow increased to only affect her slender, though now bulging, frame. She moved sluggishly, almost brought to lethargy in the last few weeks so different from the near dancelike movement she possessed before complicated only further by the loose sands of Glorall’s beaches. Anticipating some of this she had moved her den a further inland over to where the terrain was more compacted over the winter months, a fact she was glad of as she didn’t think she possessed the strength or willpower to do so now. Sitting outside of her den now watching the breeze rustle the long sea grasses she winced, reflexively turning to bite at her rounded sides despite knowing there was not relief to be found from the tumbling and kicking that originated from inside of her.

Pulling her head back she sighed and rolled her hips the other way in a futile attempt to get more comfortable, she simple wasn’t used to being so… large. It didn’t suit her and she still wondered if it was worth it. One lip curled as she felt the sting of pain again causing her to stand and begin pacing slowly, though her mind still dwelled on the man who had done this to her so to speak. The actions had been mutual of course, he had not forced himself on her though the idea of him trying caused a smirk to lift her dark lips; she had fought with Eden before and every time was more interesting than the last. This was not a product of love either, perhaps one borne more out of mutual respect and intrigue on her part. Doing things for the sake of doing them just to see the results always amused her, and few besides Eden seemed to understand that, so many of them relying on words to relay their thoughts and feelings as a crutch.

The pain came again, now faster and more intense than before actually causing her to pause mid stride until it passed, though another was not far behind it. Turning into the den she descended slowly continuing to pace with her head hung low, her pink tongue now hanging out as she panted heavily wincing as the pain caused her abdomen to clench and release time and time again. After moment that felt like eternity she fell to her side, her small feet digging into the soft earth as her body tensed and released time and time again, her head throwing back in silent cries that no one other than her would ever hear. For a moment, between the pain that made stars flare behind her vibrant eyes, she wondered if Eden would know what would happening and appear at the den’s mouth. He tended to check in on her, ensuring that she was still well and she hoped he might wait until this part had passed she did not relish the idea of anyone seeing her so weak.

Needless to say the thought passed as quickly as it came, forced away by the pain as she felt their first child finally making its world into the world. He took his time, more time than she would have thought necessary, and he made she felt every minute of it. Still, eventually, he made his way into the world and she stood immediately, turning quickly to lick away the membrane that surrounded him revealing his dark body, broken up only by the light gray that trailed down from his tiny shoulders. Her pink tongue continued to work over him, becoming almost frenzied until he uttered his first tiny cries; only then did she slow sighing internally with relief as he made more noise than she ever had.

Quickly she moved him to the side as her body seemed to be gearing up again quickly and she was careful not to lay on the dark boy as she settled in once more. This time was easier as if her body were more prepared now for the pain and pressure that came, building to a crescendo until she felt relief once more as the second pup joined them. As with the first she cleaned the small body, this time a girl with colors of soft gray and white quite similar to her fathers’ she couldn’t help but think, though with a black cap that might have been taken from her brother. They each seemed to have a piece of the other and a smile tugged softly at her lips as her tongue worked worked over the tiny body until the she squeaked in protest. Somehow she knew there would only be two, something that rather pleased her as she placed the two together and curled her dark form around them. They moved to her stomach instinctively, their tiny nursing sounds filling the air as she laid her heavy head down her paws to watch them with half-lowered lids. They lay close together as they nursed, the fur of one blending into the other like the moon on a clear night. Eventually Eden would come and he would give them the names by the world would know them, but in her heart they would be Noctis and Luna.
