Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

Deep in her heart she was still shaken by what had happened the last time she had visited the fields. Solstice had been following her friend, her soul brother, when her blood brother had attacked. Since that day she could not find the tracks of the scent of Veli anywhere and it felt as though a part of her was missing. She longed to have the small body curled up beside her again and missed the feeling of his companionship. It was not enough to keep her from accepting the invitation though, with the small hope that she would be able to find her soft fuzzy friend in the masses. Plastering a shakey grin on her face she stopped by the dens she knew housed pups, keeping a focus on those younger than her.

She knew at least one pup would be more than eager to follow her. So she asked the gypsy Taika and her young if they wanted to come along. Her voice had been kind, her smile sweet when she had asked if the sister wanted to accompany her. The tan and black pup had all but zoomed out of the den, yapping excitedly about making friends and chasing rabbits. Solstice smiled at the girl’s enthusiasm before turning back to the shyer of the pups. She issued a gentle invitation before trotting away, letting the paler girl decide if she wanted to come or not.

Easily she trotted along the trails, her tail swaying nonchalantly behind her as she poked through the dens. She knew many mothers had children too young to come to such a gathering. Weeks old was still far too young. At one point in her journey through Tavioria, she met the eyes of a particular prankster and glared at him. This was supposed to be a safe gathering for the young, not one that involved get lost, or stuck. Instead, she hoped the boy’s twin would be one to make an appearance instead. With a deep sigh she figured she had gathered all she could and picked up her pace into the fields.

As she approached a grin started to spread on her lips. Her heart lifted with the thought of being able to find her lost brother. A full smile graced her lips and she ran to the other Tavi wolves. She barked a cheerful hello to both Amoxtli and Mikken before tackling the rambucious Masque and rulling with her in the dust and the dirt. The bunnies around them skattered this way and that! Laughing to herself, Solstice poked the pup into playful hunting formations, seeing if they could get the rabbits into rings and groups for ‘easy pickings’. Though in this case it was merely ‘easy random skatterings.’
