Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

Cenmatl

He wasn’t sure what to make of any of these. These feelings that were not his. He knew what it was, so many times his grandfather explained how imprinting worked, how for years he kept Moth safe and protected her. He never got to meet her, but he could see how broken and shattered he was from their parting. Cenmatl was scared… would he be as broken and worn if they were to break? What if she… died...? Would he be strong enough to fight through everything like his Grandfather had been? He had caught the older wolf muttereing in Nahuatl sometimes that he wanted to die, that he would soon be ready. In his dreams he would call out to his imprint as they slept under the stars. It was terrifying in some way. Moth died naturally, no one took her away but time. But Cenna knew that time would inevitably take him or her away from each other too. He felt his stomach churn with nerves. He knew he shouldn’t think about it. It was a long ways away right? Cenna shifted slightly, wondering if she knew anything that he knew regards to imprinting. Thinking about it now… it was terrifying. Especially as the feeligns just seemed to grow stronger and stronger the longer they stood with each other here. He decided… he wouldn’t tell her.

When gave a look of approval about the name he gave a bit of a sheepish smile. It wasn’t really meant as a name but if she liked it he guessed he would keep calling her it. It was, he thought, a little more appropriate than the name of some sticky tree. Or well maybe it wasn’t. Regardless he was happy she approved of the name Matini. Even putting aside his tongue the whole “teeny” sounding part of that name was very appropriate. He left that for the moment as she began speaking again, his black ears tipping forward listening to her every word. She seemed so on edge that he was here. But he didn’t’ really understand why.

Her words were about the feelings he had asked her about. She did feel them. Only confirming that maybe he shouldn’t tell her about… well anything. Let her know they would feel such incredible pain when they died they would want to die too. That was horrifying to know a complete stranger who shared your soul could die at any moment then you just wanting to die with them. He wanted to be around her and help her though. Keep her safe so he could keep himself safe, and not really because he had too. Some part of him wanted it, even though he hardly knew her. Imprinting was terrifying. She was terrifying. ”Imprinting is scary.” he said under his breath. He was both happy she felt it too and scared. What if something happened to HIM and he died? A shudder went through him at the thought causing him to shake his whole form out as she spoke again to him.

Taviora? After her?

That didn’t make any since. Why would Taviora be trying to. Then it dawned on him. The Iromar wolf that had been at the borders the day his uncle had been poisoned. Cenna hadn’t been there but of course it had been discussed and put off as a mistake. No, no Iromar would never. They knew that all to well so they dismissed it. ”No, Iromar and Taviora have been allies for a long time. We even have one of the younger wolves there, I think your diplomat’s daughter or something. She joined us. Never have we had bad blood why would we go after you. Iromar didn’t have anything to do with Amoxtli… right?” It was the only explanation. But Zelda had chosen to trust in their bonds plus it could never had been her… he was only just becoming two when it all happened… No way a child of Iromar would poison an Alpha. That would just be incredibly dark… and insane. He wanted to trust in her, really he found no reason not too. She was fiery yes, but deadly? No, there was no feeling that she would want to hurt anyone like that, no reason too. But what if she was told too? It still wouldn’t be her fault. He still wanted to see what she knew now. Maybe she could help find out who actually did it.
