Hurricane Matthew and Weekend Outlook IP: 108.183.210.234 Posted on October 4, 2016 at 00:23:13 AM by T
Hurricane Matthew is a very powerful storm that is now just south of Haiti. It is
currently a Category 4 storm. This storm is forecast to move north and be right off the
Florida shore Thursday afternoon. This hurricane is a fairly slow mover. The
computer models are coming into more agreement. They take this storm along the
southeast coastline. Any of the states from Florida to North Carolina could get
hit from this storm. Even if it is not a direct hit, there will be a ton of rain
and coastal erosion and flooding. By Sunday morning the Hurricane could be heading
more easterly from the North Carolina coast and heading out to sea.
It is looking more like we will not have much if any affects from this storm.
A cold front moves across our area late Saturday. This cold front could help
to push the hurricane back out into the Atlantic. We will have showers and thunderstorms
as this front moves through. Sunday will be cooler with gusty northerly winds.
Can not rule out a couple of lake effect rain showers. The cool air will last into
next Monday with a lake effect shower possible. There are signs that we will
turn milder again for the 3rd week of October. Replies: There have been no replies.
