Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

Zelda

She was panting she thought harder than she ever had in all her life. It was so hot, completely unreasonable. Zelda did her best to stick to the shade of the trees as she went towards Aplos Riverside. Long ago she had met Hyrule here and they bonded and talked and shared a few small secrets with one another. Her goal today though was to get herself a good drink and cool down. Most water sources in Taviora were exhausted or drying up. She wasn’t going to exacerbate the situation when she knew she was capable of walking to the riverside to get a drink. She picked up her pace to a run happy her fur was mostly short over her form for the breeze created just from her jogging felt good as she moved faster soon seeing the sparkle of Aplos River.

She only stopped moving when her front paws touched the water. Tilting her head down and lapping up the water until she felt fully quenched and more. It still felt warm for even river water… It was insanity what the heat had wrought in Moladion. Luckily so far her home had avoided fire and the trees provided shade to least make it cooler than it was well out here. She let out a sigh of relief before her nose picked up a very fresh scent along the riverside. She hadn’t noticed before and it caused her to lift her head with a start and look around.

She spot her almost immediately, her light brown fur actually blending with the dry grass of the lands, but in the shade of the not so far off tree, really Zelda didn’t notice her at all. ”Oh! I am sorry!” She says stepping back from the female. She hadn’t noticed her in her hurry to get to the river. Zelda’s teal eyes roamed over her figure, she looked well enough for being a loner, which was a wonderful thing for her indeed. ”I didn’t mean to disturb your rest, please forgive me.” She said bowing her head apologetically. If anyone thought she was a queen of a pack they would have had to have some serious intuition or knowledge of the scents to the lands.

Zelda hardly carried herself in the manner of a queen, much like her Grandfather she chose a more neutral and friendly approach. Showing dominance was almost like showing someone insult, though Zelda knew her partner, Hyrule’s, family was very different. They were all about knowing who was king, but Hyrule, perhaps influenced a bit by Zelda’s modesty, was a lot calmer than she thought the other Angel family were. For what reason she didn’t know. Perhaps because he was not the ‘direct line’ that was inheriting the throne in Diveen? Regardless she was happy he was more relaxed, it was nicer and made wolves feel more comfortable around them. And that was what their pack was about, family and being all equals. Zelda and Hyrule were protectors, and made decisions to best serve the pack, not so much their boss or king despite the not so modest titles Hyrule had given them. But that was something for another time. For now she wanted to make sure she did not make the loner upset and if she had depart as soon as she could. Perhaps even the loner would like some company, she would find out soon.
