Record non-tournmant turnout of 17 players Sunday features Team Florida's 9 player Posted on October 10, 2016 at 09:49:07 AM by Jeff "Laca" Conway
There was a record turnout Sunday evening, with more players showing up to play than the 8 team lineup would allow. The 17 players is believed to be a non-tournament event record of players in a regular NJAA game.
Game 2 lasted a walloping 45 minutes - also believed to be a record and featured an amazing 74 points. Because of its length, the first Spectacular 15 game ever was played - when points doubled in the second round. A few more games were then played to 9 points - also the first time this has been done in a non-tournament event.
All 9 players tentatively scheduled to go to Connecticut were playing on the card, including former Orlando/Dania/Ft. Pierce pro Rocco. Cachin II also played. Cachin II and Ricky are still listed a questionable on making the trip. Ricky won't know until next Monday after seeing the doctor for clearance on his knee, while Cachin II's mother in very ill in Boston.
The stands were also full of spectators, perhaps because of the lower humidity levels for the first time since May. Replies:
