She had seen another or perhaps rather heard them more so. They were close; too close in these moments. Her mind told her to tense and brace for the impact of the barreling gray wolf and yet Sekhmet lay relaxed in the body as much as anyone in her situation could. She flexed her paws into the earth opening her jaws slightly and head dipping to protect her throat; she felt the larger woman’s impact and audibly the air rushed out of her lungs while visibly she rolled on the ground quick to her paws although staggered somewhat. She held some wisdom that she had observed in life and through youthful play fighting that being pinned would leave her at a disadvantage especially to a larger wolf than she.
Sekhmet glared at the woman snapping the air to keep her away as she was making progress to regain her breath and ease the burning sensation in her lungs that made her wish to vomit all the same. Sekhmet had never felt the sensation that is suffocation before nor did she wish to again; to try and catch your breath but not being able to give her more reasons to keep the gray one away from her until she could recover. The ache reminds deep in her chest as her bodies movement began to improve; perhaps it was only moments but it felt like an eternity. She breathed in deeply finally feeling her lungs return to a state more akin to normal than not.
The woman was larger and she knew as protective as her thick fur might be to her throat and belly she had to be careful and accurate with hits. Her chest still ached as she sized up the female before her she would have to lunge forwards to her despite her attempts to cover some distance she had helped create. Gray had her head low to protect her throat and she didn’t need a battle of fangs clashing she needed damage and enough damage she would be able to walk away at the end of this; for she refused to die this day.
Sekhmet drew in a deep breath with jaws agape, unlike trying to knock her opponent into the ground; she attempted to sink her teeth deep into the girl's shoulder where it meets her neck. If she was successful she hopped to rip open the woman shoulder to cause mobility issues and moderate bleeding. She wanted to keep the woman from being able to peruse her in the very least if she wasn’t able to kill her. Without hesitation, she lowered her head to cover her throat knowing she was in close proximity now and she wasn’t taking chances. Maybe this woman wasn’t out for blood but Sekhmet certainly was out for hers.
