Rhaegal’s response was irritating in a way that made Tychon’s fur bristle and his mind sharpen with the urge to shout. His passive attitude towards a false princess - Tychon felt she didn’t diserve the title - was grating. Especially since the situation warranted them to be has harsh as they needed to be. Who got away with screaming in the middle of the night when they were actually in trouble?! Tychon “tsked” in a gruesome manner that made spit shoot out the edge of his lip and onto the ground. He answered Rhaegal’s question with a voice heated by insult but blunt with reality, ”You wouldn’t have cared if I had.”

And it was true; if Arthfael hadn’t chased him here and Daenerys never pointed out his miserable condition, no one here would ever have known he’d existed. Tychon wasn’t rueful about the situation, but he hated when others acted so righteous. If anyone in a pack had heard one day, “A loner starved to death this winter…” no one would have rued it from more than a moment if they would at all. So acting like they had done him some huge favor when they wouldn’t have care one way or another before hand was ridiculous.

His eyes shifted to Aster’s false graciousness, feeling as if his pride had somehow received a thorn. Tychon’s jaw tightened, and he meant to attack her, only to have his single step advance discouraged by Rhaegal’s information of Daenerys and Aithne. If he attacked, he couldn’t know the consequences. He hadn’t been in Spirane for long, and he didn’t know their leader that well. He doubted he’d only get lecture for ripping up the precious alliance, though. Having his actions restricted in such a way was… infuriating.

With the effort of stopping his aggression, Tychon knew he’d had his fill of this facade; it made him feel fake and dirty, as if he were trying to be a fox when he was nothing but a wolf. He let Aster suffer one more of his narrow-eyed sneers before he pivoted and started back up the mountain side to his own den, ignoring Rhaegal’s invitation. He came to shut up some pesky female, but was content enough to lay the responsibility on Rhaegal. If they met again, Tychon hoped it be where he was able to truly act as he wished.
