With quiet acceptance Lillith takes Macabre’s response to Lluvia well, not a word passes her lips as her daughter ambles away to further explore her surroundings. The Ridge seems oddly quiet without Vodnik moving around the territory, though he was often content to stand to the side and watch with quiet intensity, there was that reassurance he was there. He had gained her respect and without a word he had vanished into thin air. It was clear, without hunting, he would not make himself known in this land, his scent was disappearing and there was another thick musk seeping into the trees and earth. Another male. A threat, even without knowing him, Lillith would not bring her child near a male that was not her father.

There was danger in that.

Nodding Lillith looks at her companion with level curiosity. “I agree, though I am irritated I must say this was not an impression I expected from him.” She had expected better, he had been destined for better. Perhaps something dark had befallen him? His corpse impaled upon rocks or shore. It was better not to think about it. “Agreed,” with a firmness Lillith steps forward, her nostrils flared as she touches Macabre’s shoulder slightly, then lifting her head she gives a low nicker calling her daughter to her side.

Bounding through the grass Lluvia twists her small body and joins the two mares, her eyes bright and intelligent as she watches the end of their exchange. There is something lingering in the air, something she cannot quite identify yet, but it feels like a familiar stirring of fear, danger, and urgency. Her voice is small and quiet, ”mother?” The question lingers on her lips as Lillith tenderly brushes the filly’s tuft of forelock in reassurance and a warm smile catches her lips.

Turning back to the chestnut mare Lillith locks eyes with her, a wry smile crinkling the side of her mouth, “lead on.”
