At the densest section of the forest, there is a brief clearing where a steady flow of water streams down the slippery stone staircase. The water here is cool and refreshing. Staircase Falls has been rumoured to be the place where reality is met by magic; where peaceful spirits dwell. They are rumoured to have healing powers that are used to help the desperately hurt, though no one has experienced this, except for, perhaps, Kaive.

 The pup crawled toward her, agreeing to come with her before once again mentioning a mysterious 'them' in fear. Hellene nodded and started slowly walking, but then she paused and turned back toward the pup. "Would you like me to carry you? It is quite a ways away." Hellene paused long enough for the pup to respond, and either picked up the pup and started back home at a gentle lope, or continued to walk so that the pup could keep up with her. "Now who are these 'them' that you keep mentioning? I can promise you that they cannot penetrate the boundaries of our pack - we are strong. Perhaps we can avenge your family, if you tell us?"
