Rhaego knew that often the drive to procreate was as strong in a mare as it was in a stallion and it never failed to satisfy him immensely when the sweet-smelling doves were the first to approach him. And so when the tawny buckskin's call had reached him, the stallion thought he might know what it meant - the season was upon them afterall and the idea of physical intimacy was not far from his own thoughts either. It was a time to prove himself and strengthen the numbers of his slowly growing harem. Not to mention the act itself was rarely unpleasant.

He is pleased as any stallion would be when she ambles toward him, ushering a seductive whicker, and he knows that his first instinct at the reason for her call had been correct. Due to the directions of the air currents and the slight distance still between them, Rhaego could not scent her, but he knew that the heat would be well upon her. Truthfully, he'd almost written off the incident that had happened that late fall afternoon in the meadow... especially since he had seen little of her during the winter. However as Kitty stepped enticingly closer, a small measure of apprehension creeped along his spine and seeped into his tensed muscles - a reaction that was as instinctive as the searing heat which flared to life in his groin as she circled around and presented herself to him. He recalled sharply the way she had looked then - fierce and dangerous, not even equine - it had unnervered him and raised a number of wary suspiscions. Exactly how dangerous could she be? It was one thing to go face to face with another stallion in a bloody all-out battle, but something like this... like Kitty... was unnatural and he found himself hesitant to lower his guard around her for any reason.

Though it was certainly tempting to do so now. The proffered invitation to mount her triggered an almost immediate reaction from the husky stallion and he found his heavy hooves stepping forward automatically to close the remaining distance between them, his breaths growing deeper and coming in great huffs. There was hesitation though, a pause, as he slowed to sidle forward a step nearer, broad chest pressing lightly against the mare's hindquarters and arching his powerfully thick neck to drink in her scent with a throaty rumble reverberating in his chest. Muscles bulged beneath his russet-hued coat, coiled tight and prepared to mount the mare in an instant... however, Rhaego's ears flicked forward and he cast a probing glance forward. Was she horse or cat?
