Appearance: Grævling stands 6'4" tall and has a leanly muscular frame. He has dark black skin, short black hair (it's very curly if he lets it grow), and gray eyes. He's rarely seen without his trademark grin - chipped left tooth included. Søde rides around in a special sash across his chest, where she can usually be found eating or sleeping when she's not out playing.
Personality: Grævling is a kind person, always cheerful, optimistic, and friendly no matter what the circumstances. He's a real gentle giant; even if someone picks a fight with him he's more likely to hold them still until they've calmed down than cause any injury. He's been in Shaman now for roughly three years, so he's somewhat well-adjusted, and has found a steady job as a scribe. He volunteers as a martial arts instructor for children and young adults, and dabbles in ballet in his spare time. He's extremely generous with his money and belongings, happy to help anyone and everyone (he'd quite literally gave you the shirt off his back if you asked it). Grævling is best known by locals - many of which he's already befriended - because of his obsession with his familiar. And I mean obsession. Søde is his pride and joy, and he lavishes her with praise and attention. He carefully grooms her every day so her fur is always silky and smooth, and he always puts some kind of cute accessory - a bow, a flower, etc. - by her ear. He raves about her to anyone who will listen, and even brings around a few portraits he's had done of her everywhere he goes (he thinks giving these as gifts is appropriate as well...). Although he knows proper boundaries and discipline is important for any young creature - familiar or otherwise - toughness is just not in his character and he often cries if forced to punish her/tell her no. His favorite thing ever is to carry her around like a human child (he pretty much acts like she IS his child...), and has even been seen putting her in a stroller and pushing her around the Peaks.
Backstory: Grævling is the third son of a small commoner family in Nelya. They make a modest living farming, having never gone without the basics. They were well-known and well-liked in their community. His mother could be a bit overbearing, but meant well and the family adored her enough to put up with it good-naturedly. His father was a quiet, shy man but very charitable and considerate; he was always the first person to step in when he saw a neighbor in need, and visited everyone in the village after storms to see if they were okay/needed anything. Grævling and his elder brothers - and four younger sisters - got along well, with Grævling often acting as the family peacekeeper. He misses them terribly, but is extremely happy here in Shaman and he knows that's what they'd want most for him.
