She does not realize that the stirring of the water from her immergence into it has kept the fish at bay, sending it further into the depths of the dark pool. Still she lingers there, her banner waving back and forth, the pace of it slowing the longer she waits and is not rewarded. A soft humming whimper escaped her lips, forlornly looking into the depthless waters. So intent had she been on watching and waiting for the fish, that she did not register the click of another's claws against the stone floor of the caverns for what it was - the approach of another wolf. Only when her voice permeated the air did Raum react, her head flinging up and her body twisting in an almost unnatural way to spin her bodice around and face the girl.
Immediately her eyes were drawn to the creamy white that besmirched her dark fur.
Wrong, wrong, wrong. Her mind spun with the thought. But what came to her lips was the high, humming whimper that showed her intrigue.
"Hmmmmmmmmmm," the sound came. She stepped forward, closer to the unknown girl, the imperfect one. A question of sorts had been posed to her, of that she was aware, but for the moment her focus was drawn from the blasphemous white of her face to the strange golden hue that draped over her back. It was...odd. Something she had not seen before. Faint though the light in the cavern was, she registered the crimson tones that accented her body and accepted them, for she had seen similar markings before. But the gold was new, different, unknown.
Then her eyes locked with those of the girl.
"I am Friend," she said, a sudden deviousness entering her mind but kept at bay in her words.
"Nice, yes, friendly." Again she stepped closer, looking past the wretched white and focusing on the gold. Why does it exist there, amongst the perfection of black? It does not belong, and yet she wants to know
why it does.
