PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

rend the flesh from bone

Watching the summer sun lower itself from the sky Lillith contemplated Macabre’s words, wanting to choose what she would say with care. It was strange, before Lluvia’s birth Lillith was far more brash, her remarks cutting and she was quick to throw out a sarcastic remark. Perhaps with this last child she was becoming more… sedated. Quirking her lips into that signature smirk of her family Lillith turned her head towards her grazing companion. “It was time to move on.” There is a heaviness in her chest, a sorrow from not being close to her family, from losing her lover, from roaming out of END to Liridon and then to the islands. But those stories, those would take far too much time, and although ripping her roots and replanting herself in other areas was something she had done a few times already it didn’t mean she wanted to keep doing it.

How long ago had it been since she had danced upon the black sand beaches of her birth home? Since she had traveled through the hills of the moors and lead by her lover’s side? Since she had wandered the dense jungle forest of the Leotrims and then the slippery sands of the Donitas desert? With each home Lillith felt she left some of her roots there, be them from her children or her influences, but she also felt the density of moving beneath a sky that no longer recognized her. Coming out of her thought Lillith gave a brisk nod, “he was the first man to entice me in a long, long time. I like to think I’m difficult to impress.”

There was a joke in her voice at this, though there was also plenty of truth. “I am no longer in the position I have been in in the past, I must also change with the seasons and adjust to where fate takes me. Even if I don’t always agree with it.” Lowering her head she scratches the side of her face on her dark foreleg before looking to Macabre, “you knew your way here with plenty of ease, I take it this isn’t your first time?” Truly Lillith doesn’t expect tons of openness with the smaller chestnut mare, but they are starting, companions drawn together by a stallion within the woods and mountains.

“Before Vodnik? Did he take you or did you find him?” She had to ask. Stallions were notorious for behavior such as that it seemed. Lowering her head again she nibbled on a few strands of lush grass and flicked her eyes over to where her daughter was enticed by the summer fireflies. Lluvia could feel her mother’s gaze and the filly looked over with that level stare of hers before going back to investigating the meadow.

With the purple haze that settled over the land as it grew darker and the temperatures became more bearable Lillith’s ears swiveled as she caught the sound and scent of another equine. Snapping her head up she eyed the mare approaching, but Macabre’s actions were clearly those of recognition and excitement. An amused snort left her nostrils and turning her head she nickered for Lluvia before turning her attention back to the approaching mare. Studying the mare closely she recognized her as the mare in passing through Paradise, but there was a drawn look on her face through the forced smile.

Approaching the three mares Lluvia focused on the draft-like mare, one that she was sure to resemble slightly as she aged, not that she realized that yet. She knew little of her father and his heritage, she only knew of her mother and Macabre, of stories of her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Her mother only touched on the fact she had siblings, but she had no real attachment to them, she had no reason to. Observing this new mare Lluvia locked her pale eyes onto her, looking over every little detail, and she heard Macabre’s voice clearly come out with concern for this… friend. They must have been friends. She stepped forward, feeling her mother’s muzzle brush against her neck before bluntly speaking. “You’re sad.”
