Even though he was rambling, she did not seem to be bothered in the least. Rather, the opposite. She smiled at him and spoke calmingly to him, urging him to continue his monologue. ‘Drizzt, it’s alright. Explain the best you can. You never bother me.’ Drizzt nodded and continued to explain the changes that he had been seeing in his father, and surprisingly, she seemed to understand everything he was saying. ‘He’s broken. He’s trying to focus on whatever he can to take his mind off of heartache. However a being itself isn’t the way to go about it.’ Drizzt smiled briefly before shrugging. “As much as I would love to heal him, I think I am only keeping him going. I cannot heal him, and whatever there is between him and Stormy, it needs to be concluded as to what the next step is. His feelings for her need to either be returned or she needs to tell him that she does not care for him. Until then, he will be stuck in this limbo, in a constant state of sadness and depression.

The conversation switched from Aindreas to instead ‘what-ifs’ – perhaps always the most dangerous of topics. Drizzt had stated his feelings about leaving Malignant – a little bit of regret. But the response that he got from Motionless shocked him – immediately, she became upset and saddened herself. ‘Drizzt... If you would've never left we might have never met... You saved me... In that cave - I was going to kill myself... You're why I'm still here. You helped me. Saw purpose in me. You saved me.’ Drizzt sat opposing her agape. “Miss Motionless, you must never do that. Death is… is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Why, if you had ended your life, you would not be here now, the Queen of Malignant Felicity. I would have still been lost, or perhaps dead in the cavern. And we? We would have never become friends. Don’t you see?” He shook his head and hung it low. “I am only glad, Miss Motionless, that you are alive.” He smiled at her sheepishly from beneath his lids, before rising and shaking out his pelt. “I only came to visit Miss. I should head home before my father notices I am gone.” How sad it was that the question was not whether Aindreas would worry, but whether he would notice Drizzt’s absence. Briefly, Drizzt pushed his nares into her nape before loping off back toward Spring Grounds.

He had arrived in Spring Grounds just in time for Pierce to claim Spring Grounds as his own and to see the conflict happen between Stormy and Aindreas, and Stormy and Pierce. Whatever was going to happen now was out of Drizzt’s control – Aindreas was talking to Stormy and was distracted… giving Drizzt the perfect opportunity to slip away. He had mentioned to Aindreas that he was going to leave for a few days, so that his father would not worry this time – not that he had noticed Drizzt’s absence last time. And without further adieu Drizzt immediately headed toward Malignant Felicity, to see his friend.

He was surprised, however, to hear her calling as he neared the pack. A smile crossed over his kissers and the teen picked up his pace, crossing over the boundary without a moment of hesitation, and followed the lingering echo of her vocals. When he finally reached her, he found two wolves at her side, and paused, realizing that she had called a pack meeting. Slowly, he continued to near them and sat down next to her. Though he had not seen another wolf from this pack since he had lived here as a pup, he recognized the pair. “Hello Mister, Miss.” Their names escaped him and he shook his head. “I’m Drizzt, if you remember. But I regret that I have forgotten both of yours, please forgive me.” His lavendars turned to land on Motionless. “Hello again, Miss. I have news for you, that I do.
