Viserys moved through the winding, well-worn paths of Diveen. He had instructed Ankh to exercise, to run while she was still lithe enough to do so. Her stomach was already swelling, a tell-tale sign of either a large litter or large pups. He was confident in his abilities to take care of her during her pregnancy, although he did not and could not hunt for prey, the hunters of Diveen were kind and oftentimes he found rabbits or pheasants outside of the den that they shared. It was good to know that he belonged to a pack in which the members looked out for those who were unable to look out for themselves.
Before the onset of winter he had stocked up on the herbs that would soothe her during her pregnancy and after. He had been present for several births under the tutelage of Haziel, and although he had not made use of the knowledge for some time, with the knowledge that Ankh was pregnant the skills that he had learned were fresh in his mind. There were many things that could go wrong, but he was prepared for most of them- Viserys did not tell Ankh this, though. She was worried enough without him sharing that he had prepared for the worst. It was, however, better to be safe than sorry. His thoughts drifted to his time in Asteraia and his parents, and as if on cue, he heard a familiar and welcome howl.
He picked up his pace, settling into a crooked jog. A smile spread across his face, his tail waving like a banner behind him as he headed towards the borders. Before long, he saw the shape of his brother materialize in the distance. Viserys had been quite close with Halcyon for some time now, the rest of their siblings often passing in and out of their lives- to each other, they had remained a constant, and it had brought them close. But he had not heard from his brother in some time, and it had been a source of anxiety after the former queen of Iromar had fallen. He was happy to know that his brother was alive and well enough to travel to meet him.
Viserys pulled up in front of Halcyon, his smile growing into a grin. He wrapped his neck around the younger male's, embracing him in greeting. The scent of the moors was weak on his younger brother, and he was curious to know what had happened. His brother had grown skinny once more, as he had when he was much younger, and that did worry him. He had lost the healthy fat gained as a pack wolf. The former prince pulled back, a sparkle in his teal eyes.
