Re(3): Western Grebe in Midland

Dear Birders,
I asked Bob Bowles if this was the first record of Western Grebe in Simcoe County and here is his reply:
"The Western Grebe is not a new bird for Simcoe County but new for me for Simcoe County. The first one was observed by Dr. E. L. Brereton on October 25, 1944 at the head of Kempenfelt Bay on Lake Simcoe."

So, while this is not the first record of Western Grebe in Simcoe County, it is a very rare occurrence and a very exciting opportunity for birders.

Happy Birding!
