Living on her own had been an adjustment, especially as the cold of winter had set in. She had gone from living with her parents and Jax to spending her nights with Semele and the young dragons during the brief period that Daenerys had not been on Spirane’s throne, but after everything had been set right her parents had not chosen to return to the mountains so wrapped up in one another, and Jax had found his own path with other boys his age elsewhere. It left her to reclaim her families den and the trek up that steep, winding path had never felt so good. After cleaning it out from disuse, and as the weather turned colder lining in with the fur of a few mountain goats she had been able to bring down, she had grown comfortable in it once more. The growing consistency of a certain black eared prince didn’t hurt matters either.

How she knew he was coming now was anyone’s guess, but as she waited patiently she never once doubted that he would and once she heard his approach her entire body tensed with anticipation. Her gray tipped ears flattened atop her wide head, brindled legs gathered beneath her as she waited for just the right moment. Her gold-tipped tail wagged involuntarily as he came into the small clearing atop the cliff and she halted its movements by sheer power of will alone so excited was she, but she must not spoil the surprise. A grin spread wide over her foxlike features as he was obviously confused to not find her still sleeping inside the cave, his voice ringing out in curiosity and she let his voice ring in the morning silence for a moment longer before she made her move.
Like a golden tinged streak of lightning she fell upon him with nothing more than a joyous bark and a ringing
