A figure emerged from the storm and for a moment, Halcyon wondered if the creature was a wolf at all. He had never encountered another beast with such markings as the massive canine who entered the cave. For a moment, the smaller, thinner wolf felt threatened and took several steps back to allow the other in. Ears pulled back and hackles raised, it took Halcyon a moment to realize that the beast had not come at him with aggression. Only when he spoke did the older wolf realize his true age and that seemed to settle Halcyon down, if only a little. Cocking his head quizzically, the russet male turned his lips up into a smile before a language was spoken he could understand. Nodding his welcome, Halcyon continued to allow the heavy boy in and away from the wrath of the winter storm.
A name was given, though it might as well not have been. Halcyon's ears twitched as he tried in vain to remember the pronunciation but decided he would only butcher the calling. Mentally shrugging, he offered a friendly nod before introducing himself. "My name is Halcyon. It's nice to meet you, friend." Brown eyes gazed out to the raging storm and a shiver crept up his spine. "The weather this year has been awful. Here's hoping the coming spring brings the warm sun and soft grass again." Silence stretched between the pair of wolves. The contrast between the two of them was amazing. One small and thin to the point of being malnourished. The other young and healthy, ready to take on the trials of the world. And yet, they had come together as friends, proving that even different wolves such as them could find peace.
The thought made the older one chuckle and he turned to the oddly colored wolf. "Chatting sounds nice. Tell me, where do you come from? I have traveled most of Moladion and I have never met a wolf like you before. Do you come from a pack or are you alone?" Of course, there was more to this meeting than just a simple chat. Halcyon was searching for an army of free wolves to join him. Should this male be a loner and willing, his bulking size would make a great asset to his and Pine's cause. With ears turned towards Nietzsche, Halcyon waited to hear his tale as the winds howled their war song outside the cave.
