Hi Shamanites!
I've been working on some personal writing projects recently and have pulled together the character quiz below. I thought I'd share it with you in case anyone fancied having a go/making use of it for your Shaman characters
If you want to reply with your responses for any of the rounds, I'd love to see them.

Merlin's Character Builder
I always struggle to find character building questions which work for my stories. I find they usually focus too much on incidental detail I don't really need, or that many of the questions don't really fit into the worlds I like to write in.
I came up with the questions below. They should work when building new characters, or if you want to get to know any existing characters a bit better. They should also work for roleplay characters.
Rounds two and three are specially designed to help you to get to know things about your character which will help you to develop plots.
Round One: Lightning
This is a quick-fire round to warm-up. Try not to think too much about your responses; go with the first response to come into your head.
1) Name
2) Gender
3) Eye Colour
4) Hair Colour
5) Build
6) Height
7) Looks on a scale of 1 to 10
8) Introvert of Extrovert?
9) Dogs or cats?
10) Coast or Forest?
11) Books or Sport?
12) Peace or War?
13) Run or Walk?
14) Home or Away?
15) Left or Right?
16) Night or Day?
17) Countryside or City?
18) Early Mornings or Late Nights?
19) Logic or Feeling?
20) Fight or Flight?
Round Two: Getting Personal
1) Describe your character’s earliest memory
2) Describe your character’s favourite memory
3) Describe your character’s worst memory
4) Describe an important memory from your character’s childhood
5) Describe your character’s favourite place and why it's important to them
6) Describe a place your character doesn’t like and explain why
7) Describe your character’s most valued possession and why it is important to them
8) Describe two things (or people) your character could never choose between
9) Describe what would happen if your character was forced to choose between these two things
10) What does your character value most?
11) What traits does your character most value in other people?
12) What traits does your character most value in themselves?
13) What does your character wish they could do better?
14) What is your character proud of being able to do?
15) Describe one thing your character doesn’t like about themselves
16) Describe one thing your character likes about themselves
17) How does your character dress?
18) If your character was granted three wishes, what would they be?
19) If your character could undo one thing in their past what would it be?
20) If your character could have one object what would it be?
21) What would your character want people to say about them at their funeral?
22) Your character is poisoned and only has a few hours left to live. What do they do with the time they have left?
23) Divulge a truth about your character that they would find upsetting
24) Write something about your character they don’t know or realise about themselves
25) Who has the power to most upset your character?
26) What worries keep your character awake at night?
27) If your character could forget one thing what would it be?
28) What (or who) would your character be willing to die for?
29) What (or who) would your character be willing to kill for?
30) Describe one thing, event, decision or revelation which would make your character feel differently about themselves?
Round Three: From the Outside In
For this round you will require a dice or random number generator. Follow the guidelines below to assign characters to each number and then work through the questions. Roll the dice to find out which character each question is referring to. If you have a dice with more than 6 sides, just add more characters to the list!
1. Your character’s nemesis (or someone they don’t like/doesn’t like them)
2. A member of your character’s family
3. Your character’s favourite person
4. Your character’s best friend (or second best if the same as above)
5. Your character’s mentor figure
6. Someone your character knows who identifies as a different gender to them
The Questions
1) This person betrays your character. How does your character feel about this and how do they react?
2) This person steals something from your character. What do they take and how does your character react to the theft?
3) This person gives your character a gift. What is it and how do they react to it?
4) This person tells your character that they’re not able, or not allowed to do something. What is it and how does your character react/feel about it?
5) How would this person describe your character?
6) How would your character describe this person?
7) This person argues with your character. What are they likely to be fighting about? How does your character feel about this fight?
8) This person says something to upset your character. What are they likely to have said and what may have prompted them to say it?
9) Describe a memory your character has of this person, something they have done, or something they have influenced?
10) (Roll the dice twice for this question.) Person A fights Person B, what does your character do about it?
11) This person dies, how does your character feel about it?
12) Your character is trapped with this person. What do they talk about and how do they escape?
