News 03.28.20

Get with me if you want to move up in rank. I'm going to change up the pack tasks for a little change of pace.

Congratulations to Adrian on her promotion to Governess. She will handle the guidance and teaching of our young pups in Iromar.

If you have a ^ next to your name, that means you're up for promotion so see me or send me a message on Discord so we can see where to move you. All others interested in specializing or getting a rank, let me know so we can figure out how to make that happen.

The pack board has been updated. If you wanted to remain a member, let me know either on here or Discord and I'll get you back on the board. Otherwise, let's have a thread!

I know I had a couple replies for the training with Spirane so I will be starting that thread soon. Stay tuned!

I am still working on an alliance with Diveen and Asteraia so stay tuned. If you have any information or would like to help, please let me know. If anyone has any ideas to promote activity within the pack, also, let me know. I am open for plots and such! Meanwhile, thank you all for your continued support of the pack.

She knew she could do it. There were too many rumors and too many stories. The eyes and ears of Taviora seemed to be failing them and she had decided she was the one who was going to find the answers. With the presence of a new strange wolf it seemed as though time were running short. There was a sense of urgency only a puppy, unknowning of the passing of time, could feel. There was a problem, it was great, and it needed to be solved. She would be the one to solve it. She needed to be the eyes and ears of Tavi, she was small and agile enough to do so! No one would suspect a puppy, if they could even find her. Muzzle set in determination, she set out of the forests, going to do this on her own since her brother and the adults would not help her. Moteuh was the brave one and she would earn the respect of her pack before she even turned one.

… …. …. ….

Life had become far too boring since Fancy Face seemed to take himself underground, or into the clouds. Wherever prancy kings take themselves. Now that Zelda was taking care of the forest my ambition to get my blood back on the throne sorta fell through. I mean, she was my cousin and her family in this place went way back. Not to mention Teza seemed to want to busy himself with other things. So much for all the work I had been trying to do for him. Prick.

With nothing else to do, I had taken to circling the forests. When the forests bored me I wandered out of them. Just to smell what I could smell. It was pointless though. It seemed like two years old was the worst age to be for forever. Parents and whatever telling me, ‘try when you’re older’ or ‘you’re too young’ or ‘Stop that!’. I could do shit! Just because it was ‘against the rules’ didn’t mean I couldn’t do it.

Wait… Little Moteuh seems to be up to something. All these damn pups coming and going. First that little fairy gypsy girl, then Solstice, other various orphans picked up here and there. By the Angels and Aztecs alike. This is what happens when you do good deeds. They frickin’ wander off! Zeltzin possibly did not know of this, she had enough on her paws. Zelda was being all leadery, Teza was doing whatever Teza Tezas. Not to mention it was flippin cold. Clearly I had to do this. By the time I found an adult the trail would probably be far too cold. Colder than the ice making my whiskers uncomfortably frosty.

I swear I wasn’t this troublesome when I was a puppy.

… …. …. ….

At last! She made it to the moors of Iromar. The musky scent of settled on her otherwise fresh pelt. The crisp air of the forests and freelands replaced by the muggy feelings. There was something more than the simple terrain of Iromar that started to spook her. The mystery of the land coupled by the knowledge that she should not have been there had the puppy fuzz on the back of her neck standing on end. Crouching low to the ground, she hoped her body and colors would conceal her in the mists of the land around her.

Moteuh froze at the sound of paws on thin cracking ice. She crouched even lower, fear gripping her small body and eyes going wide. Panic flared through her, overwhelming her senses and freezing her in place. She had taken the paths of least resistance but it had exposed her to the world.

Looking up she met the blazing eyes of the Traitor King. Aranck looked down at her, his pale lips curling over his fangs.

What are you doing here, little child. He purred low, his body sinking and flowing around her like the mist that surrounded them.

I… I am Moteuh of Taviora. You! You’re the king! You’re the one who murdered Aithne! Moteuh tried to take the power behind her pack and give her the strength she needed to face this male, this king of murder. You will pay for what you did!

Aranck chuckled down at her, his voice becoming more cruel with every note in his tone. You? Does anyone know you are here? His face lowered even further to her, his fangs large enough to simply wrap around her throat.

It was in that moment the pup knew she had done wrong. The safety she had imagined and the adventure she had dreamed of vanished in the reveal of his fangs, shattered by the sound of his voice.

Yes… …?

Aranck snapped his jaws on flesh.

… …. …. …. …. ….
Something about this seemed terribly wrong. The further I followed the pup’s scent the more concerned I become. It was different, wandering around the freelands to see the world…. This was purposeful. Though I was not privy to the conversations parentals had about the working of pack dynamics, I wasn’t exactly stupid either. Secrets were abundant in Moladion, so was death. I picked up my pace as the trail led further into the land that had become home of both of these.

My heart was racing and the scent was getting stronger. She was closer, but so was the king of Iromar. His fresh trail started to mingle with her’s. It seemed as though the world started spinning around me, I could almost see the phantom of him racing ahead of me towards our opposing goal.

A shriek ripped through the air and I saw him looming over the small body of Moteuh. Blood dripped from his mouth and covered her body, spilling onto the ground. I caught him mid-leap as he jumped to pound down further on her body, trying to crush her bones under his superior weight. He jumped again and I rushed forward. I was not as big as he, but I was determined to save her from further damage. I bowled into him with a snarl, my own body sprawling and tangling in his. Already bloodied fangs and claws ripped at me, cutting my face and legs where fur was thin and skin was shallow. Struggling, I untangled myself from him.

I jumped away from him the best I could. Trying as I might, I puffed up as much as I could. He was huge compared to me, but I had a purpose. He looked at me, his face thirsty.

And who are you? He snarled, clearly pissed that forest folk seemed to be invading.

Tepi I owned my name in this moment. Prince of Taviora.

He seemed to freeze. A prince was different than just a pack member. Blood of royalty on his paws was possibly not something he could afford. But neither was a witness.

Aranck stepped forward, I could smell the flesh of my pack mate on his breath.

Do you know what you saw here? Do you know what you will happen if you speak?

My mind raced through anything and everything I could say. Nothing was coming through. My silence was too long. Aranck snapped at me, his fangs cutting my nose and my lips. I yelped and ran. He had killed her. He could kill me, too. Someone needed to know. Moteuh’s mother needed to know her daughter was dead.

… …. …. … ….

Damn brats. Aranck growled to himself, turning back to the body of the female. The king studied her for a minute. Her lifeless form caused a great number of difficulties. But tresspassers were to be dealt with, and she had spread rumors and lies. It had been a poor move, and to have had someone see him made it worse. Someone would miss the prince if he killed him, but hopefully this little maggot was simply a parasite.

Baring his teeth in displeasure he picked up Moteuh’s body, thankful the brat was young and small. He would not have to drag the dead weight. It was not far to the shores of Iromar, where the moors met the salty waters of the ocean. Here creatures would feed upon the dead. A body could go missing, here he was sure it could never be found.

PACK RANKS

Monarch
Pretty simple, Alpha of Iromar. Ultimate authority. What I say, goes.
Chief
The 'Co-Alpha'. He is her equal and has all the same authorities as she does. He is be respected and can take challenges and block steals.
Deputy
The Beta of Iromar. The most trusted wolf under the Alpha. Has all the same authorities of the Monarch in her absence. Second in command. Can block steals and take challenges.
Council
The advisor to the Monarch. One who's wisdom is often sought in matters of politics and war. Not necessarily an elder but someone the Monarch looks up to.

Council is their direct supervisor. Trains the diplomats and serves as their direct supervisor. Can block steals.
Governess
The guardian of offspring in Iromar. Skilled as a warrior and alert as a scout, this wolf is tasked with probably one of the most important jobs in Iromar, protecting the future of the pack and Moladian. They can watch the litter while the parents are off doing tasks, hunting, or just enjoying some quiet time. Can serve as guides for the pups, like having a full time guardian. No one to train but the pups or even adults of Iromar when they have questions or curiosity about the past. This wolf may even be called upon by the Council at times. Can block steals.
Soothsayer
The seer of Iromar. This is a special rank made specifically for a wolf with "the sight." Consider her an advisor/spy of sorts for the alpha and rest of the pack. She/he can gather intel from outside or supernatural forces. You don't have to believe in the magic of this ability for any wolf with this rank will be respected as a ranked member of the pack. Can block steals.
